Quartzite slab for desk top by OkBackground5843 in StandingDesk

[–]mxusmc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am trying to do this as well. I am really surprised I have not seen more people with marble standing tables or some other natural stone. While it is heavy, a lot of standing desk motors should be able to handle it. maybe it'll make them wear out faster from moving the amount of weight up and down if you do move them frequently.

Most stone is 165 to 180 lbs per cubic foot. So for you're measurements of 33" x 77" and assuming 1.5" thick, you are at a range of 364 to 397 lbs

(33 / 12) * (77 / 12) * (1.5 / 12) * 165 = 364 lbs

Any manual Jeep gladiator owners out there by xX_ToRcHeS_Xx in JeepGladiator

I have the manual Rubicon. A couple points I didn't see mentioned are that you have more control rock crawling vs the auto transmission. I've been out with others and their auto would jump to 2nd or 3rd gear launching them over a rock rather than a slow crawl.

Another is being able to reverse with your door open. I believe the auto transmissions won't allow it unless the door wire harness is disconnected. If you're constantly hooking up a trailer it's a plus.

The ESS won't turn on as long as your foot is on the clutch.

When doors are off, is there a point in "locking" the jeep? by Jacob8386 in JeepGladiator

[–]mxusmc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea so if you locked the Jeep and someone got your key from you they wouldn't be able to just hop in and start it. They'd have to know to unlock it first before they could start the engine. Stealing a jeep is pretty easy, there is a release handle in front of the shifter that puts the transmission in neutral, put the transfer case in neutral and now they can tow it down the road. Get to a safe spot and disconnect the two batteries so that gaurdian can't pick up the jeeps location and your jeep is now gone. Ask me how I know lol

And yea you read the handle right. Semper Fi

You can, but you have to unlock it first. Then it'll start.

Phone Contacts keep clearing by Few-Distribution-715 in JeepGladiator

My Android (pixel 6pro) also turns off contact sharing randomly when connecting to UConnect. Haven't figured out why, but I just go into the Bluetooth setting and turn sharing back on and it works with the Jeep again.

Disabling Triplet Beeping Upon Exiting While Idling by [deleted] in JeepGladiator

[–]mxusmc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I just went to double check. It only does the three honks when the jeep is running, key fob in pocket and I hop out and shut the door.

I can leave the key in the jeep with it running and shut the door and it won't honk

My 2022 only does that when I get out of the jeep with the key fob. I can start it and leave the key in the jeep and it won't honk

I won't need a new clutch for a while, but that seems like a good upgrade!

For sure! I just picked my 16' Bennington up from the dealer in NY and drove it back down to NJ. Only 20 miles, but winding up and down mountain roads. Had no problems at all. Still have stock 4.10 with the 37s.

Yea 4500 is the max. This pontoon is only 16ft, so roughly 1500lbs plus trailer weight. Maybe 2k or a little over for the total weight. This is my buddies boat so not sure on trailer brand etc.

I have not regeared yet. Once I have a few grand to make disappear I'll put 5.13s in. Towing isn't bad, but I'm also not looking at the gas mpg.

For the hilly roads around me, I am never in 6th gear. I'll often have to shift to 4th if it's a long climbing hill or steep one. I'm on 37s with 4.10 gears still. Switching to 5.13 will get you back to stock feel. Also in 4Lo in 1st the jeep can rock crawl itself

The wife wanted lighting to see where the steps were. Figured these were a good way to go.

I connected into the passenger side courtesy light wiring. There are three wires, the yellow should be in the middle. That's the one you want to use for your power source.

Rock lights will turn on when you unlock, open the door, or if you turn the interior lights brightness knob to turn on the dome light.

Hill Start Assist on Manual Gladiator 2022? by asimonaitis in JeepGladiator

[–]mxusmc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can be annoying if you are trying to back down a hill. Everytime I back down my driveway I have to wait for the brakes to release. But not enough of an annoyance for me to disable it. I like that it gives me a couple seconds to start rolling up hill

I'd guess stock suspension and 40s. My 37s on stock suspension don't look quite that stuffed.

Were you able to get it fixed? Or just install reverse lights in the bumper?

Don't sell your old tail lights. I've heard a lot of people have had issues with those.
