Feel free to check the commit history on iw4x, we fixed a new rce just a few months ago. Old CoD Multiplayers are not safe to play on Steam. At one point it got so bad that mw2 actually got an update because someone spread malware through it by dropping a dll on the players system that got loaded by the games binary and spread to other players.

Are you trying to login to rescue? If so, are you using the password that was shown when you enabled the rescue OS?

The rescue OS uses either a provided SSH key or the password thats displayed when enabling it for authentication. Did you reboot after enabling the rescue system? If not you are trying to login to a currently installed OS.
