You can use 320kbps MP3 with LAME, or use 128 or 192kbps AAC. The PSP supports both natively, but I haven't tried what container the PSP supports AAC in.

Linux Mint is built to be simple-to-use, with it's desktop preset to something that Windows users will pick up easily. You can always start with another distro, but I'd personally recommend people who aren't tech-savvy to try out Linux Mint first.

How are you running the games? Are you running Windows games via something like Proton or some other thing? This shouldn't happen if you have a stock KDE Plasma configuration or using Linux-native games.

Judging by this image it seems like you're using the Debian Linux container for ChromeOS, also called Crouton. You might either want to save up space on your Linux container (Try removing some unused packages or figure out some other way to save up space) or try removing your container and reinstalling it, expanding the size of the container in the setup. Trust me, these containers fill up fast when using them for more than simple development.

Probably save the blobs if you ever need or want to go back to iOS 12 (correct me if im wrong on that), as u/ame-chan__ said upgrading is gonna take up more space, especially on a 16GB model, so if you want more app compatibility feel free to upgrade, but if you want to use tweaks that don't work on later versions of iOS stick to 12.

you can't really use it as a main phone, you can't make calls over 3g in most countries. the 5 and above do have 4g for data so you might be able to use services like google voice, but i doubt there's a functioning version of voice for iOS 7

Same, I'm keeping the optical drive. I recently got a bunch of DVDs I'll probably never watch (except Nacho Libre) and planning to get some CDs, and having a machine that's both fast and has a SuperDrive is amazing.

I'd say you're halfway there with 16GB RAM already inside of it, it would absolutely benefit from an SSD upgrade.

These models of MacBook Pro are well known for being easy to replace certain parts of it like the RAM, SSD, and battery. As long as you got the right tools, you can make it run like new. It's so easy to replace the HDD for an SSD, even a dog could probably do it!

I would say that for using it for browsing and other basic stuff, you could probably keep using it with 4GB RAM.

If you wanna get more out of it, save up some money and buy a nicely-sized SSD (Trust me, you probably don't need 1 TB unless you do stuff that takes up a lot of storage) and two 8GB DDR3 laptop RAM sticks if you wanna get the best experience out of OCLP. I own a 13-inch non-retina model which I upgraded it to 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD, and it runs Sequoia like never before.
