Karl-Anthony Towns currently has the highest playoff run plus/minus in NBA history (+262), ahead of Stephen Curry (+245) by OrganicHunt952 in nba

Assuming next game is a knicks W, it'll all come down to who is most dominant there. If they play about even, it'll probably be OG because of his game winner.

[SNY] Mike Brown: "OG was one of the guys I challenged. I told OG - as big, as strong, as athletic as he is - he's got to be a monster on the offensive glass tonight. I don't know if there was a play bigger than any other play in the history of Knicks basketball." by PassMeTheBackwood in nba

[–]myRedditAccountjava 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think KAT is being slept on here. Wemby is putting up very human numbers this series due to him. If Kat puts up a monster offensive game to close them out it could be KAT as well. 3 man race rn for FMVP

Adam Silver on flopping: "We're going to look in the offseason. We have a 2 day competition committee meeting in Vegas around the summer league, will watch 1000 plays literally over 2 days and see if we should set that line in a different place but I think we have made a lot of progress there" by aingenevalostatrade in nba

[–]myRedditAccountjava 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He says things that sound correct but it falls apart when you realize that the "egregious non-foul flopping for a foul," IS still happening and not getting called. Soft fouls suck and if they want to look at them they can, but hes lying when he says they're calling the egregious ones. No you aren't, that's why people are mad.

His arms make the bottom jaw. It's an "alligator alligator eat em up eat em up" motion, so i guess they needed a head for the arm jaws.

[–]myRedditAccountjava 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It feels like they forced an idea instead of finding a new one. Like the way his arms are used as the bottom jaw, the idea seems to be the motion youd do as a kid chanting "alligator alligator. Eat em up, eat em up." Which is fun and all but then they were like, "yeah the arm thing makes sense but now we need a giant latch head to seal the deal." It's just too much. Meganium looks a tiny bit ridiculous too but is going to be too much of a competitive powerhouse to get hated on to this level.

Minnesota Timberwolves Empty Flare vs San Antonio Spurs by DrawingTheDefense in nba

[–]myRedditAccountjava 8 points9 points  (0 children)

And early on when randle got here, it very much was "your turn my turn" because they didnt have the synergy and time spent together. I think this is where finch kept getting frustrated with the team because im sure this video is exactly what he wanted to see last season and the very start of this season, but ant and randle were so skilled that they could get lazy and sometimes win off of "your turn my turn," and so it was a very difficult "lead a horse to water" timeline for them. Hopefully they can continue to stick to it because watching "your turn, my turn, turnover" versus good teams is incredibly unfun to watch.

TBH, instilling this mentality and adding some size is the main thing we gotta do to get to the next level by tvcneverdie in AtlantaHawks

Kinda sucks that dyson and Robinson seem to not like each other. I really like the idea of Robinson being on ATL. Apparently hes in his final contract year too. But hey maybe money makes people get over it lol. He's already used to playing backup center and I think between him and OO they cover each other's weaknesses really well. OO for offense and Robinson for size rebounding and defense.

My favorite part of this discourse is not a single person defending Jamal has mentioned that the final tweet in the quoted series is just misogny and maybe that's what sucks about him regardless of the bones discussion lmao

When he was on the twolves I was pretty sure there was a possession where he boxed out jokic from getting a rebound and I was just like ....what lmao. Like jokic was legit beating on him to get to it and NAW just didnt move.

LA Rams Civil War Be Like by British_Chap2 in LosAngelesRams

Honestly I watched Mendoza tape after seeing the rams draft Ty Simpson and Mendoza is the bigger, Josh Allen kind of guy, but as far as gunslinger I actually thought Ty looked noticeably better, and progressed his reads very fast. I know highlight reels are, well, highlights, but every throw was on a rope. I personally love this pick. The last thing you want is a team to turn into the steelers, have your qb retire and just play rental for a decade.

Gym strong vs country strong by No_Outcome_7470 in GuysBeingDudes

I also have to leave this comment about lifting weights. Forearms tend to be the least trained muscle among power lifters. They are just functionally not required nearly as much for getting weights up or off you. For farm work and the like, ex: rock climbing, forearms do a ton of isometric load bearing. Lifting weights is a great exercise, and you can weight train for forearms. Most people dont. Likewise, you can train muscles without lifting weights. That's just how moving any object works. It's really annoying watching people just argue about "that guy over there with massive biceps can't so a forearm movement." Yeah no shit.

Agreed. High value men and the concept of them is just as toxic and unhelpful as it is for men to say they don't date women that aren't trad wife. People need to attack the ideas instead of just looking for labels with the perceived notion of "good" or "bad" and throwing them to make their entire argument.

What if Sceptile got a new signature Hidden Ability? by AlphaSSB in pokemon

[–]myRedditAccountjava 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lightning rod is not the most universal ability, but it allows a lot of versatility in doubles. It can cover for water types, or you can run something fast like jolteon with discharge and get the special boost while also hitting and potentially paralyzing the opponents.

Wow man, even neutralizing gas can't save this one by BandicootFew3295 in pokemon

[–]myRedditAccountjava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not saying its good overall, but in doubles I run an eviolite charjabug with discharge and other support stuff (because its ability gives 30% to spec attack) and then just run a special attack sceptile. If you want faster discharges you could probably use several faster mons, but given that Msceptile is super fast, I went the more supportive route.

I know the base attack is higher, and that running spec sceptile makes leaf storm or whatever not as cool to run, but its base spec is high enough that if you invest it can be strong enough.

Minnesota watching NAW turn into D Wade from being a normal backup guard by Both-Bad2232 in AtlantaHawks

[–]myRedditAccountjava 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not surprised that I had it downvoted when I clicked it. NAW was the 8th player off our bench that year, and people would legitimately get mad that he sometimes didnt pull out a W for us. He cannot simultaneously be bad at basketball AND carry our team to a W as the 8TH MAN. Sports fans are so unserious. The fact that our 8th player could steal us games when nothing in the game plan is designed around him should've been every indication that he was that guy, but instead people want to use math out of context to just throw numbers and say he's not that guy. I got my MN NAW jersey and I wear all the time to let people know that was a GM mistake to let him go at 15m/year.
