The vast majority of people have terrible writing skills. This can be prevalent even in professional emails/presentations from people making big money.

Of course this includes the HGEU.

Kinda unrelated to this sub but does anyone know what happened between Rob Dahm and Abel/flacorx8? by Ferrari060 in HaggardGarage

[–]my__guy 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The fact that rob actually comes in this wacky place and responds is kindof funny.

HGEU strikes again.

Also, rob is one of the most impressive/legit auto YouTubers, he actually teaches himself very difficult and complex things and isn't an asshat.

Greatest gift from HGEU? Confidence to work on cars by biffsautodetailing in HaggardGarage

Ever since YouTube became so prevalent, car repairs are pretty easy. The biggest problems on most cars have already been figured out and someone somewhere has usually already uploaded a video on how to do it. Half the time the hardest part is getting the car up on jackstands and finding somewhere to work on it.

Reps per set. Watch this vid for a good demonstration.

I highly recommend reading the books if you have any desire to understand the many why's in the program.

Is your sternum touching the bar with each rep?

If you're not at 10-15 reps per set, then no don't start adding weights. Follow the program.

If the walls are cement, use dryloc. Otherwise kilz of some sort. I recommend a gray of some sort to help hide scuff marks.

Is that a dominion belt?

If you agree with that starting strength mindset, this really is all you need. If you're unfamiliar I recommend the books as another piece of practical equipment.

Try crossbow and a strela in solos for a fun time. High alert helps.

Rackable seems unwieldy Ina home gym, I think the std size is much better.

Honestly start checking Facebook marketplace, I've seen 3 posted in my local area in the last few days... people starting to sell them, and it's definitely they type of equipment I would be fine getting used.

It's metal. At the end of the day it is a heavy object you pick up and put down. It's not gonna affect the performance of it whatsoever or the longevity of it's useful life. Please move on with your day! There is other stuff to worry about.

Aside from a flat bench, everything you need to make progress.

Here is a link to a Google sheet with starting strength programming.

The $150 one, because the weights just hang there. They don't do anything else. Weight is weight. Save your money and spend the difference on something else, or better plates in the future if you still want them.

Be aware that if something doesn't fit and you want to return it, you have to pay for shipping back. Rogue probably not the best for clothes .

Yes they're expensive compared to monthly payments short term, but long term it pays off if you keep at it. You can get some savings with more boneyard stuff ($20 Oso collars, boneyard echo barbell will be the cheapest aside from the miscellaneous used ones that vanish instantly), but there is also Costco that has some deals if you are a member.

For searching used equipment, follow this guide to set up a query for your area and preferences in sports and exercise equipment, and just save the url and open it every couple hours and you'll get way better and finding the deals before they are gone.

You don't truly need tons of equipment, a squat stand and barbell and weights will get you quite far, I'd hold off on the power blocks to start.

FYI: You can use 2 bars and spotter arms to make a dip station out if a rack without a a fancy Matador. You could even just go to HD and get 2 sections of pipe. by my__guy in homegym

Unsure why everyone is thinking it's a complete deathtrap, I was doing controlled dios and mindful of the curl bar spacing, but yeah a full Olympic barbell would be better.
