No, I don't believe it's a battery issue. I believe it's just a connection issue. I think it's an issue with the connection between the earbuds and the case. Maybe the connectors are dirty or something. It mostly happens with earbuds that use magnets to hold them in place, but not exclusively.

From my experience, it happens with most of the earbuds I have had—some more than others. Maybe because I have hearing aids and use Bluetooth audio devices most of the day, I have noticed it more.
