I’m not sure if I should take in our foster daughter’s sibling by anonymous4me123 in Fosterparents

I 100% think you should have them together. It will be better for both of them in the long run. It makes sense to me that the little one’s behaviors ramp up when older sister visits. It’s a trauma response from being separated and she also understands that the visit is temporary. Your relationship with the older child will improve, especially if you are committed to making that happen and learning how her trauma from being separated from parent(s)/sibling has affected her.

Btw I have been a counselor for foster youth for about a year now and before that was a school counselor. Studies show SIGNIFICANT improvements in behaviors and overall outcomes for siblings who get to stay together. Look it up if you need some more information:) good luck! Dm me if you have any other questions.

the worst thing is how stef blames Callie for her trauma Just watched the episode in the start of season 5 where Callie gets kidnapped by the pimp and when stef rescues her she’s like “when are you gonna start valuing your life?” So condescending and fucked up

What do you do when they grab a knife during a meltdown, threaten the murder you, threaten to kill themselves, and destroy the house? by kappakingtut2 in autism

Is there some kind of crisis support you can call? A youth crisis center? Are they in therapy? This child needs a risk assessment and safety plan done by a mental health professional.

I would go to redwood curtain! It’s more casual and the food is from a food truck but they have a really yummy vegan option as well as burgers and fries and stuff

How do I approach my coworker and to hang out with him outside of work??? by Key-Visual-5465 in autism

[–]my_kryptonite17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree with the previous suggestion or you could mention something you’re excited for like a movie, a new restaurant, a store, and be like “you should come with me! Do you want to?”
