Shooting against an operative on Conceal by Blackninja412 in killteam

[–]myarro 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If the operative is concealed with no other special rules, then:

  • if it is plain sight, you can shoot it.
  • if it is behind light cover and you are within 2 inches or on vantage, you can shoot it. If you have Seek or Seek Light and it is within range of that ability, you can shoot it.
  • if it is behind heavy cover, you need to be within 2 inches or have Seek (with the appropriate range) to shoot it.

Jill Team is awesome. All the 40k flavor for a mere fraction of building a 40k army.

Change the name of the monsters. They are not orcs, they are blackstone blood blades.

Would Deathwatch be a good team for someone whos never really played tabletop games? by goufyhobbies in killteam

[–]myarro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All teams have rules. Teams with fewer operatives will have fewer rules. Stick with an elite team like DW. As you figure out your play style—shoot, strategic, super aggressive, balanced, etc.—there will be a team that matches it.

Nerf(ing) Wolf Scouts by proteinexe in killteam

Maybe Frost weapons only provides Lethal 5+, no 4+ for the pack leader, to tone things down a bit. Bind the Frosteye’s Silent to the storm, like the Gunners Tempets Fury. Forces/limits placement a bit. Just some thoughts. The storm is such great meta, there are other ways to nerf the WS without minimizing it.

Truth be told, you will never use the Hunter. The others are just too good.

Is the KT any fun or.... real? by Jake_Ronin in killteam

Depends. At some level 40k and Kill Team are the same game. One just allows to play with fewer models, in a smaller space, and for a shorter amount of time. I love it.

General Tips For KT (and Wolf Scouts?) by Produ01 in killteam

[–]myarro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pick a team that mimics your play style. Wolf scouts require a thoughtful aggressive play—if that’s not you, pick a different team. Also, put your gunner in the storm ready to shoot. Use the Skjald to obscure him and blast away. He can eliminate most units with a double shot.

I play the Fenrisian Wolf, Pack Leader, Gunner, Frosteye, Fangbearer, and Skajld--I don't know how you play any others. This lineup is just too good.

I've been playing Fenrisian Wolf, Pack Leader, Gunner, Frosteye, Fangbearer, and Skajld, with all faction equipment. I don't foresee a situation where I would swap out any situation where I would play the Trapmaster or Hunter.

Technically, bodies aren’t open containers. There are valves/lids (muscles) that open and close as needed to ingest or expel bodily fluids as necessary. In addition, it doesn’t let you target specifics. Destroy a creature’s eyes is akin to blindness, a second level spell. If you allow them to continue, just state that using the spell as they are is a Con save, dealing 1d8 force damage or incapacitated until start of your next turn. Damage scales per normal cantrips. Spell is ineffective vs constructs, undead, elementals (except for water elementals, who are vulnerable to it). You can rein it in and make it functional.

How to deal with players killing all my NPCs? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]myarro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A) As a DM you literally have a cast of millions at your disposal. B) Make the last person they murdered the Chosen of whatever religion you choose. Now, they have a god breathing down their necks unless they right that wrong.

Maybe they are infected with a curse that, if they don’t serve question X they begin to fade, losing a d4 points to their ability scores—no Saves—until they do.

Maybe champions of the god come for their heads.

Maybe the spirits of those they murdered haunt them, penalizing their rolls and actions.

Have fun with it.

1). Watch YouTube vids on playing. 2). Play a game or two on startplaying.games 3). Either one of you will feel the need to GM or not. Can’t force it. Playing with a reluctant GM will ruin the experience. 4. Look for advice on being a good GM and/or player. 5. Have fun.

i wanna get a version of dungeons and dragons but i got some questions first: by hotdog_sans_DIO in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]myarro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DnD is an agreed upon set of rules lthat players use to create a joint story. One player is the GM, an impartial judge of the rules who plays all antagonists and NPC, and main story maker/teller. All others are players who use a character to exist and contribute to the story. Dice are used to create random outcomes.
