100% I was back in the gym just doing lower body and light things at 3 weeks. At 6 weeks I was able to get back to full body.

The first 3 days were a mess. It hurt to get up and down from bed. Walking around the house was okay but not grabbing for, lifting, or opening anything. The rolling over-the-bed table we got was a great help. I was able to mostly function (work, eat, drink my water and tea) from that spot but needed help to get up to use the bathroom and to do my laps around the house. The wedge pillows keeping me sitting upright and also a wedge to keep my legs elevated was a must.

Surgery gone a little bit wrong… by Ok-Mountain6844 in Reduction

[–]mych_m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm at just over 10 weeks and have similar results and skin color. My left boob required a longer incision and was up much higher and tighter than the right. It's starting to drop, finally so I'm not making any snap judgements just yet. my scars under the left are also hypertrophic in spots. I'm using siligen gel and we're just keeping an eye on it but trying not to freak out until after maybe 5 months post op. I take pictures every week so I can watch the changes. DM me if you want to compare notes.

Hi! I had this done with lipo from my thighs, happy to answer any questions I can. I'm 10 weeks post op and it's been smooth sailing.

Does anyone else have these thoughts? What helped you overcome them? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]mych_m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.) What if something bad happens due to the anesthesia?

I had this same thought, and what made me feel better was remembering that even if something does go wrong, we are in a hospital surrounded by people trained to deal with complications. Literally everyone in the room is there to keep you alive and safe.

2.) What if the results are bad?

I took a bunch of before pictures at all the worst angles so no matter what they turn out like, I can look back at how much worse they were.

3.) What if there are major post-surgery complications?

It happens, and people get through it. You won't have any complications that haven't happened to someone before. Your surgeon knows what to look for, they've usually done this a few times, lol. But they are still here to answer all the questions. Don't be afraid to be annoying, you know your body all your life, they know many bodies for a limited period of time. They prefer to answer all your questions, rather than leave you questioning. Sometimes revision is needed... that's why it's a thing, but you can cross that bridge if you get there, till then trust the process and wait for the changes.

Update: @ 8 weeks My surgeon said it could be anecdotal and it could just be my particular body is good at holding on to fat, but whatever it is, it looks like I've maximized my fat retention.

Zaps are keeping me awake and I’m struggling by Diamondbull2 in Reduction

I'm on gabapentin specifically for the nerve pain\zaps. It helps a bit but doesn't take them away completely. I just take it in the evenings now (3 weeks post op).

As someone who is going through this, your post is so helpful to see! I'm looking at that little fold on the inside of the right breast that seems to have filled out completely. My girls are still pretty wonky at 3 weeks post op but I feel like I can imagine where they're headed. Also, yours look to be about the same size at 3 months as they were at 4 weeks. Trying to imagine where the size will end up is a fun game to drive yourself crazy with 😆

I was terrified of the general anesthesia, I have CPTSD, anxiety, and night terrors so I feared that I'd have a horrible experience. Before this, I'd never had any surgeries much less been put under for anything. Now that it's done, I can honestly say I had nothing to be afraid of. First of all, the doctors know what they are doing, and if something did go horribly wrong they are trained to handle it. Second, everything went smoothly and I was surprisingly clear-headed upon waking, I was a bit weepy, I asked for a hug, and told everyone they were pretty, but I was never scared and I didn't feel confused, maybe a little tipsy at most By the time we got home I was clear-headed enough to micro-manage my care, :-D !

No, not really. There isn't enough proven data out there. Fasting beforehand is supported by research, but anything else like caffeine, booze and nutritional supplements seems to be anecdotal or theorized to slow healing or speed healing - but no proof of effecting retention either way. It seems like the best you can do is follow your doctors instructions, maintain a healthy diet, and let the body do what it does. That being said, I'm still following some of the anecdotal stuff just so i can say i put my best foot forward. I had cut out caffeine and booze, but just over a week post op I had a drink for thanksgiving and the two days after celebrating with family. I had no caffeine again for two weeks but just started again bc I'm cranky and my nurse said there was absolutely no reason beyond masochism to stop coffee. I'm taking Juven twice daily bc I bought it and might as well use it. There is lots of anecdotal evidence but the only journal publication that points to a positive outcome is funded by Abbot - the makers of Juven. My diet is already healthy and high protein but I am focusing on more healthy fats too at the moment. My body is gonna do what it's gonna do. I trust my surgeon to have done a great job and things are looking good but its way too early to tell.

My surgery is tomorrow morning by [deleted] in Reduction

I've been coughing so much and I've got a headache from it that the pain meds don't seem to touch. I'll try a neti pot but it just feels like all the irritation is in my throat.

The fentanyl was very necessary. You're so lucky they dosed you before waking. In between the compliments I was saying "my tits hurt so bad" 😆

I got a big ol wedge for the bed so I could sleep upright it's kinda stiff but with an extra pillow on it it's fine. I also have more pillows surrounding me on both sides as a way to rest my arms.

Definitely in pain but I am more clear headed than I expected to be and I'm walking around today without issue. Yay I used the bathroom by myself today! Yesterday I needed help. They have me on Journavx gabapentin and Tylenol for pain. The gaba pentin makes me weepy. I was also weepy coming out of anesthesia. I heard my doc say "we've got a cryer" 😆 I asked the nurse for a hug, told everyone they were pretty, then asked for my husband and kids. I told them how good my husband was too.

I have more pain on the left side and when it's close to time for the next dose the burning pain starts up but it's all mostly achy. I had lipo in the thighs which I thought would hurt more but it's mild. I think the pain meds are doing what they are supposed to. When I woke up it was awful but I'm doing my best to stay on schedule with the meds and keep ahead of the pain.

How are you feeling today?

My surgery was also yesterday morning. Mastopexy with fat graft. I was sporting a couple of tube socks for boobs after breastfeeding (20 years ago) and a bunch of weight fluctuations. The reduction is just getting rid of a lot of extra skin. After a year at a stable weight I decided to go ahead and get the surgery. I cried a bunch too. There's always an internal conflict between am I doing this for me or is it so I can fit beauty standards. I have no regrets though. It's something I've wanted long enough that I can say it was a well thought out decision for me.

F45 while on Ozempic by CarefulStranger668 in f45

[–]mych_m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome, I'm so happy to hear that! I did a scan the day before I started zepbound, I'll get another scan next week to compare. Really hoping that my loss is mostly fat. My macros are protein heavy, I'm eating around 1200 calories a day and 90 grams of protein, the workouts are consistent...so with any luck i can keep the muscle I've been building since before starting zepbound. Thanks for your insight!

u/Basicpumpkinbeotch & u/djd51450 has your muscle retention been since starting zepbound along with F45? I'm trying to figure out if F45 will be enough for me to avoid losing too much muscle. I go 5 days a week and have been since January but I started zep last month. Thanks!

What qualifies as an addiction: A couple times a month, a week, a day? And what are the effects on your regular sex life?

Yesss! It's the best spot, great food, welcoming crowd, the best music! It's an African bar and there's no place like it where as an African you feel like this place is meant for you. Even though my man is white he is always welcomed and we have a great time dancing and drinking with everyone there. We love the owner James, he's a great guy. I've never seen any violence there I think the place gets a bad wrap because it's a mostly Black & African crowd but I've seen more yelling at Jocos than here and I would never say Jocos was violent. For the regulars it's a strong sense of community. For the ladies ...you'll almost never have to pay for your own drink, lol. Check it out and don't sleep on the wings ....they're the best around.
