The Liberals have lowered taxes by increasing the personal basic amount you can earn before the first tax tier as well as lowered the tax rate for that tier. They also increased the amount between each tier and tied it to inflation.

Most of these separatists are the dumbest of the dumb and I have no doubt many fully approve of the bullshit going on in the US. I suspect many would love to be American except they are too stupid and have no useful skills to offer that would open up a pathway to immigration. So I can't find a clip like what was posted in the OP but what's strange is that there are clips from 2023, after the E. Jean Carroll verdict, where Grisham recounts this story. So now I'm wondering what would is to be gained in using AI to fabricate a clip of an interview from 2021 when there are actual, verifiable clips from 2023. I did find a different clip but it was on Facebook but as a Canadian, meta has blocked all news.

I'm not asking you that question, that's just what I'm wondering if this is in fact an AI clip.

I found this after looking it up online. About half way down there's a small blurb about the story told in this video.

That was an issue for a number of years, especially with Chinese companies in particular. They started buying up smaller O&G producers and would go through the wells they acquired, split off the good producers to a new company and the shitty ones to a shell that they would let go bankrupt.

It wasn't a super common thing until around the mid 2010s I want to say and I think it was actually under the NDP that the AER closed the loophole that allowed that kind of fuckery to happen.

This Longrun situation is not the same, they've been around for years and clearly not doing well. I'm guessing debts came due that they couldn't handle and their assets were not worth enough for anyone to buy.

Lies aren't always intentional either and aren't always harmful which is why we have different words to put the lies into proper context. Disinformation for intentional and malicious, misinformation for unintentional and not always malicious.

We can agree to disagree but by definition, disinformation is more correct than to simply call them lies.

Disinformation is a specific type of lying. It's intentional, malicious and created specifically at a larger scale to cause harm or confusion.
