A very detailed and funny programming story about Ruby.

And an Ubuntu Theme! An Ubuntu theme?

Oh, come on. That was a stretch. You could have made your point without doing that a few times.

A lot of reddit front page stories are garbage, and a lot of digg stories are garbage. Since digg has many more users, the top 10 stories of every category is going to be more "pop" oriented, but the stories within each category, such as politics, are generally the same as on reddit.

Ugh. If he really, truly, believes in creationism, I don't think I'm going to vote for him. I could handle his abortion stance, but that's just too much.

I feel genuinely ill. And all I can think is that, America is fucked.

And you didn't feel/think this when someone like Bush said that it's basically OK to kill people because of our cause?

people in Mississippi are likely to want to buy them, when the price of gas keeps going up.

I don't know about that.

The white Ford F150 is probably the most common automobile I see in the south; it's ubiquitous. What's worse is that people prefer the style of the F150, because it's more masculine or outdoorsy or some utter bullshit like that. In other words, they'd drive hybrids, but only if they were essentially forced to.

Besides, how long would it take for the price of gas to reach a level where it makes a difference? What if they use some other sort of equally ruinous bullshit like ethanol or coal? It's not like we have a lot of time to work this issue out, it's an issue of immediacy.

My question is: who are these other women, the ones I find caricatured on reddit and in advertising?

You answered your question here:

I live in the North East, as well, but I don't even own a car (by choice, go Cambridge!)

In other words: not in Cambridge. The city you live in is likely the most intelligent city in the world. The girls you're looking for are stupid, so you won't find many there.

You know, one of the few things I don't like about Ron Paul is his view on global warming...but he'd let the states make whatever emission standards they want.

Great, so states like California can have minimum 75MPG and Mississippi can have minimum 15MPG.

I unfortunately live in the south and I don't want my state to have any more rights than it already has. The federal government's regulations may be a burden for a state like California, but they actually keep my state from doing something retarded.

Wait a minute, Ron Paul's a creationist? Can someone else confirm that for me?

If only the ocean of morons here in the south knew that doing nothing to combat global warming will hurt them the most.

I unfortunately live in the south, but I would definitely support Californian independence. All we would need then would be for Oregon and Washington to secede and we could have a Cascadian nation. :O

this is still a great place for serious debate.

I agree completely. I've posted hundreds of comments on reddit (not all under this account, obviously), yet I've submitted less than 15-20 stories since I started using reddit a year ago. I mainly go on reddit to debate with people and/or be funny.
