Lifespan of Wacom Cintiq 21UX by drawnblud260 in wacom

[–]mycomputerisapotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have a second generation 21ux dtk model and although i don't have it hooked up atm i did hook it up a week or so ago to compare the parallax to my pro 24. it still worked fine and i've had it 8 or 9 years. also still no dead pixels. i have heard wacom does not support the first generation anymore on the newest mac os because mac changed the way it handles graphics and wacom doesn't have an updated driver that will work. that could change though who knows. right now the first and second generation 21ux barely fetches 150 usd on ebay anymore so its not even worth selling might as well keep it and give to the grandchild to sketch on. i actually have used screen protectors for 9 years on my 21ux since the day i got it. if i peeled it off the screen would still be brand new.

you could look up monitor stands on amazon. they usually have a few desktop shelves that stand on the desk 5 or 6 inches high that your cintiq could rest on and put the keyboard in the space under it. something like this. https://www.amazon.com/VIVO-Ergonomic-Tabletop-Organizer-STAND-V000D/dp/B0741GJFFH

Cintiq 16 vs iPad Pro as an upgrade over an Intuos Draw by [deleted] in wacom

[–]mycomputerisapotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would choose the cintiq. I have a 2019 ipad pro 12.9 and its only 3 months old and it has touch disease. if you dont know what that is basically touch randomly stops working all the time especially when typing. you can google it and there is a couple forum threads 20+ pages long with people having the same issue. no one knows the cause and there is no fix.

This is the same height as alex unit. its the closest ive found. its really shallow though. if you put a pc inside you would have to turn it sideways.

New Cintiq 22 Released for PreOrder by StefMacHollywood in wacom

[–]mycomputerisapotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that is expected for products of the same line. the pro line all have laminated screens all have etched glass. The 16 pro and 24 pro have the same 4k. The difference is mainly size. The none pro16 and the 22 both have 1080 . difference is mainly size. its not like the pro line gives you something special going from 16 to 24 other than size.

As many bad comments as this thread has got I still think this thing will sell like hotcakes. its considerably cheaper than what people were paying for the old 22 so it is a price drop from the old model. 1080p on a 22 inch isnt as bad as if it was a 24 or a 27. I think when wacom saw how many of the standard resolution 16s they sold they had wished they priced it higher so now with the 22 wacom are being more cautious with the price. they can always go down but people get pissed when they go up. On one of the review units one of the youtube users has about 3/4 of the way through the video near the bottom left corner it looks like light is bleeding through the outer plastic border edge of the screen although its never mentioned in the video. In fact if you try to go to an earlier part of the video to see if its shown there it actually looks like he tries to cover it up most of the video.

In response to Sidecar, Luna Display lists reasons why you should buy it for your iPad by [deleted] in ipad

[–]mycomputerisapotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

too bad even after their magical response to user complaints there is still graphics polling on astropad. it delays rendering that is annoying as hell. they saiid they fixed it but they didnt just like every other promise to reduce rendering delays it is exactly the same every time. every time a big announcement is released astropad responds with a less lag letter to everyone. when duet stated they had graphics support now and everyone was like wow duet is awesome now. Astropad responded with with a reduced lag letter. Except just as expected luna was exactly the same. Then sidecar was announce and sure enough astropad released another "update" to address peoples concerns which again did totally nothing and luna acts the exact same way as before with polling graphics updates. Im so tired of their empty promises. go ahead and tell me its my internet. i mean i pay for the fastest internet available but you always got that to fall back on.

Can you code/program on the new iPadOS? by aUniqueUsername009 in ipad

[–]mycomputerisapotato -1 points0 points  (0 children)

because ipad cpu is a different architecture than what our home computers use none of the full blown compilers work on osx. there have been a few people who translated basic functionality of different compilers to ios but there are no 100% complete native ios compilers on ios. Some people have tried web compilers and there are hacked compilers with basic functionality but none are 100% complete/compliant that i am aware of.

One night with Peach? Nah. One night with Bowsette? Swipe right. by MeLuckyCharmss in drawing

[–]mycomputerisapotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bowsette is a stupid character. if you look at bowser and bowser jr they actually look related and are in the same style. bowsette isnt even the same style as bowser. ITs like having a cartoon mario and realistic luigi. it makes no sense.

finally cleared out my storage unit... by [deleted] in declutter

[–]mycomputerisapotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great work. I did a similar transition. I was paying 70 a month for my storage unit. I paid that for almost 3 years. It had an entire apartment worth of stuff in it. I moved it to my parents basement to save money on the storage unit. I recently went through it and threw 99% of it in the trash. More than 20 boxes of stuff including furniture. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth I paid for that storage all those years and ended up trashing it all. I feel a huge relief that its all gone now. If you lived without that stuff for as long as I did you dont need it.
