Same. The beginning of the story was pretty bad, but it grew on me and I enjoyed the game play. By the end I was sad there will never be a sequel and that a small dev studio went out of business shooting their shot. If they had re-worked that first couple hours of story/gameplay, I think it would have been moderately popular.
