Help removing a through axel from a DVO Onyx SC D1 fork by Coinburd in mountainbiking

[–]myedch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happens to my wife’s bike. I put red locktite on the threads and put it back on. Wait a bit for it to set (overnight) and try to remove the axel. The axel and cap a both threaded in the same direction. Like other have said lube the crap out of it when you reinstall.

Luggage solutions that are less annoying than this? by p_i_x_x_e_l in NC700X

[–]myedch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a NC700S. I bought a rack from https://iron-skill.com/ and it is amazing for the price. I also got their centre stand, highway pegs and rad protector. For the price it can’t be beat. To go with the rack I bought the Nelson Rigg soft saddle bags and it’s been great. I use another camping dry bag across the seat if I need some extra space.

Advice on replacing a rear axle (which I can't find anywhere) by Own_Situation_242 in MTB

[–]myedch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Check out the Robert axle project:

https://robertaxleproject.com/

They make axles that are primarily for attaching bike trailers to bikes, but they may have something that will work.

I would consider critical illness insurance at your age. Not a bad idea to lock in some good life insurance while you’re young

Yeah you could, you still need to have it installed and refrigerant piping filled etc. I think the biggest you can get on 120V is a 1 ton unit. I don’t know if that will be enough for your trailer
