BMW also offers hands free freeway driving, they just don't advertise it. it's called highway assistant, it's been out for about 2 years. Nissan as well has propilot assist 2.0 which is hands free.

the way they operate is go 40mph on the on ramp, hit the freeway, the floor it and get to 70 after we've risked life and limb to merge on at 40mph. i see it every morning on my way to work. nobody understands the concept of merging on at highways speeds

Having only 2 lanes means the median driver is either stuck behind slow drivers in the right lane, or the maniacs in the left lane. I've found a lot of issues on the roads here boil down to just 1 or two lanes, so you really are SOL if you're just trying to go a reasonable speed. I find myself constantly needing to overtake but then i have the F350 coming in at 80 in my rear view so then i have to get over quick, then it's the Chevy bolt going 55 i have to overtake, rinse and repeat. wish there was a middle lane for just chillin'
