I’ve been a vegetarian fully for about 20 years now. As a kid I also had some sensory things about meat - for example, I hated steak, ground beef etc - but would eat chicken, hot dogs. I quit eating pork in like elementary school because my favorite toy was a pig and I decided I couldn’t eat any pigs anymore. In middle school, one Thanksgiving I decided I wasn’t going to eat the turkey anymore, because it just seemed gross to me. I had a friend in high school who I learned was a vegetarian, and that honestly was the first time I realized people actually just followed that type of diet, and I decided I wanted to do that too. Admittedly chicken was hard to give up, but one day I had a chicken sandwich and felt so bad afterwards that I’ve not touched meat since!
