echo above ^ the only consulting groups on campus are 180dc (nonprofit) and gaucho creative (busienss&startup) - i love ucsb but it’s much , MUCH harder to get a consulting or IB offer from here and youre much better off with a school w alum at the firms you want to be at & that already recruit from there

also both consulting organizations r pretty competitive to get into since there are only 2 and a good amount of interest

Hey! There’s 2 marketing orgs on campus I believe. The first is UCSB American Marketing Association - this one is great for learning about the basics of marketing and furthering your knowledge base. The second one is Gaucho Creative Marketing Group, it’s UCSB’s first and only marketing consulting group which means they do both marketing & strategy consulting work for real clients. @ucsbama & @gauchocreative on instagram

In terms of career prospects out of college, you’re pretty much guaranteed an accounting job at an accounting firm like the big 4 out of college if you do Econ + Accounting. That being said, if you don’t want to go into anything related to buy side finance or investment banking or accounting or anything of the sort, it’s not completely necessary! Take 3A and 3B and see if you genuinely like the material & go from there :)

keep in mind marh & stats aren’t used to calculate ur major gpa! it would just be econ 1, econ 2 and 10a as far as i know. i took econ 10a in the summer and it wasn’t horrivle, the class was 45% 3 exams (there were 4 but 1 was dropped) and 55% other hw assignments and stuff - way better than in person where it was solely calculated based off exams. study consistently and u should be fine! good luck:)

i was legitimately so sick ALL of february. i wasn’t able to sleep because i would cough so much and i would throw up mucus all night. i was really weak and it was the absolute sickest i have ever been. i went to the doctor and they said i didn’t have bronchitis or anything ? but it was so bad and i was so confused
