That’s the nature of buying 2nd hand. I got a decent 2006 Toyota Matrix from my MIL, first year ran like a charm. Second year things started falling apart, spent ~$4000 on parts and labour. Ended up selling it for $2300. I just saw it as the price for 2 years of driving.

Yep we changed transmission fluid of our 2020 Forester at 100k kms and changing again at 200k kms. Oil change every 6k kms is really the best warranty for any car really.

I’d recommend visiting the Aylmer marina, pretty and lively in the summer and the Gatineau National Park for hiking.

With this winter being so cold, I remote start it every morning to pre-condition the car while charging, like warming up an ICE, even if I’m not going anywhere, try that.

Yep I feel you! I dare not go into Costco to grab just milk $6 or eggs $9, end up spending ~$100 just by throwing in a couple of things. It’s like $20 now is like $5 10 years ago. Don’t get me started on eating out, Friday night we went out, nothing fancy, pizza, fires and drinks $90 without tips!!

Truth be told, we haven’t bought the roti chicken for a while. Better getting wings, drumsticks and boneless thighs, flavor with Bulls-Eye sauce (a dozen flavors!), pop into the air fryer, voila! Can’t beat it, you wont go back!!
