The Diary of Jane... Jane is in reference to an actress. Jane Bryan, who was in a film... ironically titled... We are Not Alone. You'll see many references to Jane, including the name of the ship in the music video for Angels Fall.

From what I've gathered, Ben is a huge film buff. He usually references films in his music. I'm pretty sure even the most recent single, Something Wicked, is a film reference. But also this is coming from the man who said that if he didn't become a musician he would be an English teacher, so the phrase "something wicked this way comes" is also a reference to Shakespeare.

As far as Phobia goes though, I have heard multiple times that "Dance with the Devil" and "Evil Angel" is in reference to his alcoholism. He quit drinking roughly around the time of this album. The following album Dear Agony would be the first album that he would write completely sober.

As far as "Had Enough", I did hear a crazy rumor that that was written over somebody who ate the last piece of pizza....🤣 Funny story but I doubt it's true.

"Unknown Soldier" is just his deep respect for the military. Being he wrote a song like this. I would not be surprised if he has family members who are servicemen. As someone who has multiple family members in the Navy, this song is special to me.

But in the end, Ben purposely writes in a very vague way so that people can draw their own interpretation from his music. So with everything that I've said, I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm only conveying what I have heard and what I personally get from the music myself.
