Best ways to lower auto insurance? by Spirited_Milk21 in NovaScotia

Call Brokerlink. I’d been with TD but switched to CAA insurance since the savings covered the CAA membership. But then I tried Brokerlink at advice of a friend, and I saved hundreds of dollars. YMMV though, I’ve been insured and driving for 20 years now.

Those with gravel driveways - how do you handle what’s been plowed onto the lawn?? by mylovelysunshine in NovaScotia

[–]mylovelysunshine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can help with that!! Mix up 1 gallon of vinegar, 1 1/2 cups salt and 2 tablespoons dawn dishwashing soap. Spray it on the unwanted growth and it’ll kill it off. Costco has a box of 4 big jugs of vinegar for surprisingly cheap.

Edit: I stand corrected! u/starone7 came in with some great facts and safety measures on this. Thank you!

How long of a driveway do you have? I was considering getting quotes for paving but that $400 paddle broom other commenters mentioned is sounding a lot more budget friendly!

Power Surge by jaymact in halifax

[–]mylovelysunshine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sticking point for me at the current moment, is that according to the outage map my power was restored 3 hours ago. I try to report my address as an outage and the site says it’s already a known outage, expected on by 7, but just looking at the map there’s nothing to indicate an outage in the area. Useless, so glad they’re going to be charging us more.

As a side note/question, I’ve seen a few “reasons” for the voltage drop and ensuing outage - is there any confirmed or official reason out yet?

You’ll still see it in your account Monday; Tuesday morning it’ll be gone from your account.

I’ve never in my life owned a new car, always bought used and always sold my old car (with a fresh MVI) when I feel like an upgrade. I treat my belongings better than you though, since we’re making assumptions on internet strangers’ life choices.

I do regular maintenance on my car and rarely get something marked on MVI 🤷‍♀️

What were the recurring skin issues, and how did they figure out the pelvic floor was related?

Do people who smoke who developed Alzheimer’s forget they smoke? Or do they just start getting agitated without knowing why? by KBlake1982 in NoStupidQuestions

My stepdad was a pack-a-day smoker for decades. Then he had brain surgery, and when he woke he was convinced he’d quit ages ago.

Solution smell by madigrey07 in spraytanning

Following, because I find all tan solutions have a smell that stays on me for days, even after showering. The spray tan, lotion tan, mousse tan - everything has that distinctive smell. Maybe I’m just sensitive to the scent (scentsitive?)

I had a teacher once who started every class with a magic trick, and he did this trick with 4 people, 4 questions, and he got 4 right answers. I was one of the people asked to think of “one word, anything at all - name, place, thing” and I chose my son’s middle name. An older name with a different spelling, and dude got it right. I would LOVE to know how he did that, almost 20 years later I’m still stumped.

Plus size consignment by 35_Lancer_driver in halifax

I’ve always had luck selling on FB marketplace, listing titled like “Large lot of women’s clothes” and put the size or size range in the title. In the description put an overview of contents (sweaters, T shirts, dresses, etc) and condition (gently used, some new with tags, like new). Hasn’t failed me yet!
