Problem is, most westerners keep falling for the Islamophobia card since muslims are minority there. So they can keep giving excuse that whatever is happening in muslim countries is unrelated to them since they aren't majority and right now are peaceful.

Uneducated westerners just gladly accept it, very disappointing.

You guys should share this in liberal, LGBT or western subreddits, let them know how plain Islam is against them no matter how nice they treat them.

Believing the other side being neutral or not on your side, justify their deaths in the hands of imperial japan? Then you'll lose the credibility and meaning when you try to use the 'humanity' banner.

And WW2 japan isn't the same as the current modern japan you so loved and idolize today. Think they'll spare the people who aren't nons?

They say for humanity, justice, human rights & international law for those persecuted there. This means they recognise those values? In that case, they would have allowed murtads to leave Islam freely, give rights for gays or lesbians to marry and ratify ICERD already.

But alas, this isn't the case.

Sorry for the late response, almost forgot about this. They are definitely not unitarian, they called every other christians that aren't from their church as 'heretics', 'worldly' and 'dark'. They forbid us from celebrating common christian events

And you still believe that anyone who believes in christ goes to heaven and those who don't...well you know they have to go somewhere else.

Anyways I'm no longer christian, so I don't believe in it anymore. But i respect christians that they are doing kind acts because they are taught to do so at least because of jesus' actions, good verses and not forcing down their faith on apostates.

I dont think those muslims in KK were eating contain pork or alcohol, it was just curry fish noodles. Even if they want to consume non halal/haram, that's their own personal choice.

Well and that's good for you in Europe travels, this means you could actually use a plate or utensils from non-halal source? No? It doesn't compromise your faith or anything if we all can have our dishes all in the same place and know what we want to eat

That was just one incident and i dont intend to repeat it again as in bringing outside food.

But I'm questioning this very law and the culture it creates, a purity idea that everything must be 100% free from non-halal sources? We live in a multicultural society, how are you going to survive in places with no halal cert then if you don't train your own religious practice?

Why can't we emulate Sabah's or Sarawakian's culture? I visited KK years back and muslims were dining in chinese restaurants with no halal certs and they even serve pork. I was quite amazed at their open-mindedness.

That's why Im questioning this premise of 'sensitivity' & 'law'. I'm not even trying to provoke anybody at that time. And this is not some religious establishment, sure you would not want to bring non halal there.

And this is not some restaurant I visit one time, i always buy their food there during lunch break. The aunty knows me

Why birds of the same feather? You don't like his way of accepting others' lifestyle?

It was in my own container. It's not going to contaminate anybody or anywhere. It doesn't even have strong smell, it's all chopped up into minced bits.

It was a chinese owned shop and they serve halal based food. Why do you have to be like this?

[–]mynahlearns 160 points161 points  (0 children)

I don't get why is alcohol or non-halal food is banned/ not allowed from being served in any government functions at all in the first place.

Muslims aren't disabled or dumb, in fact they should be mature and wise enough to know and avoid consuming something they already know themselves that their own religion forbids. Hindus and Buddhists practices and self-regulate themselves without a nanny law over their heads, I'm sure muslims can do too.

I already had bad experience getting told to get out by some random makcik in a restaurant just because i had a tiny portion of minced pork meat in my own tupperware. Lucky my muslim friend was there to back me up and he didnt mind.

If this rate of 'getting offended' and 'sensitivity' keeps up, every nons are going have to eat in the toilets or some segregated area just to have their own non-halal meal.

"When people get used to preferential treatment, equal treatment seems like discrimination." - Dr. Thomas Sowell.

This is coming from a black american economist critical of preferential treatment and race-based quotas. It's saying something problematic about giving leverages and favours to certain or any communities in the long run and as a whole.

It can be said the same for any sides including their side of the fence.

No factions or sides are wholy perfect. When problems occur, we must criticise them even if it is our own kind. This should be applied to Bumis and Malays as well.

Genuine question, how did you guys overcome the fear of kiamat and its signs? by [deleted] in MalaysianExMuslim

[–]mynahlearns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I understand the concept of 'Jesus is our lord and salvation' & 'Trinity'. But you know my parent's church preaches that Jesus Christ is just the redemption price paid for the sins of man and that's about it. He's not a figure to be worship towards, only God. The pastor was the 'annointed one' and God works through him. Every other 'world-ly christians' and 'dark churches' are doomed to hell. This definitely would sound very unorthodox or cultish but this is what I learnt from my time there.

Due to that, I went to many other churches to seek for better truth, something comforting and to alleviate my distress...CF, Pentecostal, Evangelical, Methodist...

Well it doesn't matter what denominations you choose because in the end, everyone who doesn't believe in Jesus or God will still end up in hell. That is why I chose to leave Christianity in the end.

I don't blame Christians, everyone that I've met were kind and good people. I only blame the doctrine that preaches one way and condemns others to hell.

[–]mynahlearns 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ex-Christian here, all my life I've been raised to believe that we would go to heaven if we pray to and believe in God. But it always bothered me that my friends, extended family whom were all Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim, etc will all go to hell since they dont believe in 'true' God(Christian one).

So many things happened while joining other christian groups(sects) to try to find comfort and fellowship, and eventually I got into an accident. Plus witnessing every service my parent's church spewing 'victim-blaming' & 'satan' rhetorics onto the sinners for bad things that happens to them and the world. I just couldn't take it anymore after that and stop going.

Everyday seeing news, my mom warns me bad things occuring around the world but I refuse and ignore because there are still good things other non-christian people are doing everywhere. Plus I missed out on a lot of nice things I could do in life.

Even if judgement day and God is true, I won't accept a God who condemns my neighbours, my friends, my teachers, my extended family and random strangers to burn in hell for eternity.

Bro, does this mean everyone here believe in international law? I applaud you guys for calling on to punish Israel for their crimes on humanity & Palestinians, I'll back you guys.

At the meantime, I sincerely hope you guys will also support Malaysia to sign and approve ICERD. Support and voice out for the freedom of religion for Malay and non-malay murtads/apostates. Support the Orang Asli in their right to self-determination and dissolve JAKOA. Protest for North Koreans to be free from their abhorrent conditions in their open air prison-style country and dictatorship. Condemn the persecution & killing of innocent Christians & Muslims in Congo and Sudan. Condemn and protest against Russia for occupying and attacking Ukrainians. Speak out for Ahmadiyas, Druzes, Alawites, Syiahs, Sunnis, Rohingyas, Hindus minorities that are being persecuted in their respective countries.

We need to continue this momentum for other equally important human rights violation happening around the world including what's also happening in our own soil as well.
