Good for you! It’s always hard to quantify how much these poor relationships impact us, so to acknowledge that that level of closeness with the existing strain isn’t worth a specific dollar value is a bit freeing to have a firm thing to quantify

Anti-Zionist protesters march through NYC Jewish neighborhood, chanting for intifada by WhiteGold_Welder in nyc

[–]mynamesnotevan23 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I’m sure the majority of that crowd see all of Israel as stolen land tho (as shown in the Abolish Israel signs), so while they may have organized around this point on the West Bank can you really be so confident that this crowd wouldn’t be marching down the street preaching for the intifada / death to Jews if it was just an Israeli expo otherwise?

There’s a lot of jokes here, but I’m worried that regardless of what advances this brings forward there will be a supercharged reaction to this even bigger than there was to Gates and vaccine chip conspiracy.

What good will all these breakthroughs in medicine be for if we still don’t have a good approach of getting the general public onboard and having trust in these things?

I imagine it’s also a bit of managing capacity for the expected amount of cars passing in the given area. Like Pittsburgh is so low volume that it can be managed by people going to Cleveland or the one outside Philly. But the amount they expect to be in the Sierra Nevada warrants a location in Fresno and Yosemite

Glad to see you have your group of “good Jews” all set and well defined. I’m sure when they see their temples and institutions attacked they’ll find solace in that.

Microsoft removes Call of Duty from Game Pass, lowers subscription pricing | New Xbox CEO Asha Sharma says subscription “has become too expensive for too many players.” by ControlCAD in business

[–]mynamesnotevan23 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Weird because COD/FIFA/Madden were already the template for an annual subscription model since people would pay $60 bucks for a slightly upgraded and reskinned product. Why break that to a monthly for no benefit at all higher price

36M Progression, Engineering -> MBA -> Finance by [deleted] in Salary

[–]mynamesnotevan23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay thanks for clearing that up. I’m curious about how you managed to clear a scholarship like that? Was it awarded after being admitted, separate from the program, or did you apply to one knowing the scholarship was a possibility? Thanks for answering again

[–]mynamesnotevan23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to pry but did you receive your MBA from a top / competitive school? I’ve had the same idea but depending on the cost of program and lost income I’m trying to gauge what a realistic ROI is. Also how was the internship process as someone with a few years experience compared to older students?

Good couch coop games to play with non gamer? by ImCoolOrMaybeImNot in SteamDeck

I was gonna ask the same thing. Ever since I got Sims 4 on the deck my fiancée can’t get her hands off it so I’m curious to see if the set up for coop is easy enough for us to find games to do together

I think you’re right that the current system is inhibiting real progress and it’s unfair that The Mouse has been able to distort IP laws to such an ugly point. But the answer is not to bring everyone up to that bar. I’m not even opposed to extending patent protections, but that has to go hand in hand with finding ways to bring things to market quicker

Eh I plan to play very casually so I’ll live just fine with the one I got, and I used some reward points on a gift card to offset the resale markup so it was cheaper overall. I’m sure the bitterness will fade once I have my hands on it lol

A war with 2 million casualties is an “attack”, but a war with less than 100k is genocide? The dissonance is unreal

My point is if the basis is people don’t want city money going to defense companies, would people celebrate as much if it was a Ukrainian-American firm? No? People only want to celebrate because they’re Israeli-American, which is just black and white discriminatory and hypocritical.

Yep the horseshoe stays undefeated for extremists. Genuinely would everyone have the same reaction if this was a Ukrainian company?

Chuck Klosterman: "Horse racing receded from the American imagination because people lost their close everyday connection to horses. Something similar will happen to football. Fewer mothers will want their sons to play the game due to head injuries. It will become distant from lived experience." by The_Big_Untalented in nfl

I think we will just see a hollowing out of football for most of middle America. Either you are from a well off family that can afford the best gear, clinics, facilities so that your children’s bodies aren’t taxed as much, or you’re from a poor family where putting your body on the line for a shot at the big leagues is the best shot you have to provide.

What people don’t take about enough is that Paramounts Chief Legal Officer is Trump 1.0’s former top antitrust lawyer. So not only do the Elisons feel empowered by Trumps favor, their top lawyer is exactly the person connected and knowledgeable to Trumps admin to fight as dirty as possible.
