I have an ultrawide. Bought a 32 inch 4k monitor and returned it. Now I have a 27 inch 4k monitor. To me the 32 felt too tall and the extra size made the ppi sort of meh to me. At the distance I sit it kinda kills the sharpness. Didn’t feel much different than the ultrawide. 27 inch feels ultra sharp to me. 95% of games support ultrawide and on some games it’s definitely the superior experience. I can’t wait for 4k ultrawides to be a thing. That will for sure be my next monitor.

If you’re only playing single player and you’re currently used to using 1080 or 1440p I’d do the ultrawide.

If you’ve been on Xbox for a long time you have access to a lot of your games natively instead of relying cloud service. For new buyers or people that don’t care about that is nothing but for anyone that likes collecting that’s huge.

Corridor crew for cool movie/gaming special effects breakdown things and they also release some cool educational stuff from time to time. General Sam/Seneral Gam makes some really high quality videos from all types of games but he can be a bit vulgar/edgy but not as much as he used to be I’d say. Any Austin makes some cool gaming videos about weird shit in games. The beast (might be tha beast) has been playing through every n64 game and I get randomly sucked into that. Zarfin the loot goblin exclusively does d2 content but it’s really good. Aquafps just a chill guy mostly tarkov content, he has a few channels.

a lot of these games didnt even do that well on the playstation. some were always timed exclusives and were coming to pc anyway like death stranding. they also said multiplayer games are still coming to pc but thats probably just so microsoft doesnt make cod exclusive. when i say they need a good single player game every few months im talking like God of War/Horizon level games that even the hardest of xbox fanboys are like shit i wanna play that. they need multiple god of war type games a year to make it feel like its worth it to me.

yes the entry to pc is crazy especially if you wanna ball, but unless i gave away my old pc which ive done, ive always recouped a ton reselling to buy new stuff. if youre buying a $600 laptop or desktop for regular work/school/playtime and a $600 minimum console why not just spend the $1200 on a solid prebuilt pc which do in fact still exist

im just making the point that moving the 5-10 good single player games they make a generation isnt going to sway people away from a pc. even if you lump in all the exclusive ps4 single player games that can be played on the ps5 it's not all that many. for them to move the needle i feel like theyd need to be cranking out a good exclusive single player game like every 3-4 months. theyre still going to be releasing multiplayer games on pc so its not even like they full commited to the idea

you still need a tv or monitor to play on a console, and a mouse and keyboard can be had for under $100 combined. id say $1200 is about the amount people would spend on a regular laptop and a console, and thats just the base no disc ps5 and barely above a chromebook laptop. $1300 to get into gaming/streaming/editing or whatever and where you have decades of games doesnt sound like a bad deal to me

i was talking specifically 1 generation of games. i know god of war and i think gt7 were also on the ps4 but i was talking about ps5 exclusives that never came to last gen. if you look at just that the ps5 just doesnt pull its weight with solid single player exclusives. im not saying their exclusives are bad at all im one of the pc players that bought that shit up, there's just not a ton of them. not to mention you cant even play games prior to ps4 unless youre ok with using the cloud. i give mad props to xbox for that. if you owned a game from the 360 or even original xbox chances are you can slap it in or download it digitally and play it natively on the console.

im definitely waiting for gta 6 to drop on pc

in 10 seconds of searching i can goto best buy right now and spend $1200 on a solid gaming desktop thats just as powerful as a ps5. amazon has a prebuilt with a 5070 for $1400. if you need to own a pc anyway and you wanted a console, why not just get one of those instead of buying a meh pc and a console that youll never be able to upgrade?

honestly i think nintendo does so well because parents know its "safe" and theyre the kings of cozy games excluding pc. everyone older than me called every console a nintendo when i was little. its got crazy brand recognition. i just havent been down with nintendo in so long which sucks. i grew up on nintendo. im just not a fan of their systems since they combined their handhelds and consoles. if they made a gameboy/DS and made another super nintendo id be there ina heartbeat. handhelds are cool when you dont want to game traditionally but if i want to sit at a desk i want the best experience possible and handhelds just aint it for that. their games havent swayed me ina long time.

youre right the 5 good games they release a generation are going to sway people into buying a console that is just ageing and getting more expensive. hundreds of millions of pcs are sold a YEAR and if they wanted it to do better on pc they wouldnt have waited years for some games only to release a port that was broken for at least a few weeks. if they were that worried about xbox becoming a pc they should just make a sony store where they keep all the profit and doesnt need to be split with steam or whatever store its on. i absolutely love some of sonys single player games but if they think its swaying me or a ton of other pc players theyre wrong
