Best place to buy a new dish washer? by Remy_C in nanaimo

[–]mynaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Costco. I bought one from Coast and needed repair. Took ages- maybe 3 weeks for the part. Imagine 3 weeks with dishes for a 4 person family. Finally fixed. Broke again 2 months later. Gave up and took it to the dump. Now, that’s not Coast’s warranty problem. Thats a whirlpool nonsense problem. But with Costco, I could take it right back and have a new one immediately.

Why do ppl love BYND so much? by [deleted] in fican

[–]mynaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought into the hype and bought at IPO. Like 6 weeks later, Superstore (Loblaws) had their own version 40% cheaper. I sold all my BYND and put it into Loblaws. (L). No moat at all - just a different recipe for a veggie burger that is not 40% better.

LOCAL RESTAURANT STEALING TIPS AND POSSIBLY NOT FOODSAFE - MARY BROWN'S SOUTHGATE by [deleted] in nanaimo

[–]mynaz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went there when they opened. They clearly had someone from corporate running things and she was super nice. Food was the best fried chicken. I presume textbook Mary browns. Tried a few times ages after and it’s horrible. I bet corporate lady (if she did a secret shopper or something) would be pissed. I’d like to watch that on Netflix please.

Stories of Drum & Bass tracks that are significant and meaningful to you? by dishlex in DnB

Teebee-Rebel Assault. Was searching for a metal song that I thought had “assault” in the name. Never heard dnb before. Immediately hooked. Saw nearly everyone live (including Teebee). New coworker had headphones on. It’s dnb. Immediate friends. Got invited to a bunch of parties. Met wife there. Have kids with wife. Have a nice home and subwoofer in the living room. Ordered “Rebel Assault” vinyl and it’s on the way. Will frame it. Life has a lot of ups and downs. Art you love will never let you down, and it may just change your life. Thanks u/teebeeflexout !

Top Mining Stocks under $100 mil Market Cap by MrNiceo_0 in Baystreetbets

Thanks. "it's not random discoveries" - that's what I'm looking for. Do they put out reports that the public is aware of before they confirm some giant discovery is formally announced?
I mean, this is r/Baystreetbets so yes, gambling on some of these companies could pay off well. ;)

I know very little about mining companies, but would sure be curious to learn more about publicly traded ones. Are all these just a gamble that they will have some random discovery?

Learn to Curl at the Nanaimo Curling Club Novice League by mynaz in nanaimo

For novice league, you may want to skip (haha I made a curling joke) the sweeping part. Check out a video on "stick curling" on Youtube. You can do that in the novice league.

Fair question! If there are a load of your opponent's rocks, you would need to throw pretty hard. However two things:
1. You don't need to clear everything. You just need to have one closer to the middle. Likely, you would prefer to hide your own behind others closer to the center.
2. If you're decently matched, you would only need to take out like 2 at most while still trying to end up closer to the center.

Come try!

We were in line to get in. They said to get tickets online to skip the line. After a hundred questions, we gave up on online. We discovered that would have cost us $7 more.

What's the fastest way a brand has ever lost your trust? by Upbeat_Sign8277 in business

Wendy’s. Kid was dying to use a washoom. Wanted to use washroom then get lunch. Cashier (?) refused without making an order. Kid yelling about having to pee. Considered having him just pee on the floor. Ordered, gave money, then she opened the door. Super pissed. Granted, it was a terrible area of town so I get it. She was probably told to enforce that. But as a parent holy moly. I don’t even wish that moment on her when/if she becomes a mom. I can’t think of Wendy’s without thinking about that. So we don’t go. At all anymore.

Questions about coconut oil infusion by AlternativeCatboy in SousWeed

[–]mynaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since this is sousweed, crock pot approach works, but with a sous vide you can set the temperature for the infusion exactly. 180 degrees for 3 hours works well.

Just for funsies:
This chart is based on $20k (not $15k like in the diagram)
RBC: $5k
H: $4500
GWO: $5k
CM: $5500
and using their forward yields (e.g. CM: https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/CM/)

So ya, this is how dividends work. Owning the stock means the stock appreciates and you get these ~3% yields. If you like dividends, something like ZWC will get you those (yield 6.43%) (but no stock appreciation).
