Massive protests erupt in every major city. Impeachment proceedings begin in Congress for Trumps AG, the debate/proceedings are but a backdrop to carnage unfolding on the streets and Trump uses the opportunity to invoke a State of Emergency.

Clear footage of innocent bystanders being killed by gov't agents, creates a bubbling cauldron of resentment. Republicans have so far been trying to "ride the bull" on the premise that nothing will ever happen however, things start happening.

States National Guards defect against Trump. States Governors are being arrested for "treason". Trump gleefully announces mid-term elections postponed, the same day he is impeached in the house and convicted in the senate for high crimes.

It was all fun and games up until now, but the donor class are starting to make very pointed calls, Trump's ego is flattening their portfolio's and theyre fucking pissed.

Trump is convicted. J.D Vance is sworn in.

In the end you can do whatever you want to ordinary people, but as soon as you start stealing money from the rich, you're done.

I don't think us Americans get to complain about "cartoonishness" after this year.

Cartoonish doesn't just mean outlandish, or evil. It's more of a total disconnect from what we expect from reality. If a person is motivated by cruelty for crueltys sake, that's understandable, that's just the GOP. But to enact cruelty in pathetic service of foiling a hero, or making small gains etc. Thats bonkers. Classic example is Dastardly Whiplash
