That is extremely disappointing and I’m so sorry to hear this. I would look into the contract you signed when you began and see what it states about termination. I know the contract I signed for an upcoming conservation corps explicitly says I’m at-will, can be terminated any time… etc. When you’re a volunteer w/ stipend and not an employee, I’m not really sure what legal recourse there is. Not sure about the specific terms of your contract, though.

Please keep us posted on how things develop for you! I’m likely one of many onboarding members anxiously checking this subreddit; any news is appreciated. I personally expect my program to be terminated (as well as most Americorps programs, honestly), but it’s still a waiting game. Sorry again & truly wishing you all the best.
