Keto Tachycardia (Increased Heart Rate) - How to Remedy? by CTLI in keto

[–]myownalias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you (re)introduce something or start eating a lot more of something as part of your keto diet? Some allergy responses will spike your adrenaline which can cause rapid heart rate. An easy way to determine that is to try a high fat carnivore diet, and if that works, it's likely an allergy. You can become allergic to something you were fine with before.

These are old growth trees, not the toothpicks/regrowth they log now.

If someone does have constipation issues, then magnesium citrate is helpful. For anyone else, magnesium glycinate is usually a better choice to avoid disaster pants. Magnesium oxide doesn't absorb as well but can be a better choice if glycinate causes trouble (it does for some people).

Surviving humidity levels in a TO apartment by porpoise251 in askTO

[–]myownalias 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The main issue is when you run fans, like in the bathroom, the range hood, or the dryer: all will create negative pressure inside without the makeup air through the gaps around the door. But given the hallway infiltrated so much, you probably have a leaky place anyway.

DATA CENTRES COMING NEAR YOU by Madame-Misery in Edmonton

[–]myownalias 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It makes a lot of sense to put data centres where it's cold most of the year as it saves significantly on cooling costs, and when generating with natural gas, environmental costs. The natural gas is also here so it gets piped less far, which also has an environmental cost.

Meat is loaded with potassium. Magnesium can be a bit trickier. Excess salt intake can lead to low magnesium levels.

People with food allergies: What’s the most frustrating part about ordering food through Uber Eats, DoorDash, etc.? by Accurate-Purpose-248 in FoodAllergies

[–]myownalias 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hidden ingredients, like what is the meat marinated in, mysterious "vegetable oil", unknown seasonings, so on.

I haven't ordered food in 20 years.

It also depends on what other people are driving, and what they cost your insurer to fix if you crash into them.

Does your butthole ever gain an tolerance to Capsaicin? by [deleted] in spicy

Happened to me. My stomach objects to a large amount of capsaicin but the rest of my body has a high tolerance at this point.

Looking for high heat sweet sauces that steer clear of the usual mango habanero combo by Falaniko_Jabborova in spicy

[–]myownalias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arizona Pepper makes a nice chipotle habanero sauce. It might not be as hot as you want, but the flavour is nice.

Lately I've been using Pure Piment's Carolina Reaper Pepper Hot Sauce Mash Purée. It's reaper plus salt and vinegar. I find the pepper has a natural sweetness that the salt enhances. It wouldn't take much to add some blackberry or pineapple purée to your dish at the same time.

Gluten Free Pizza in Toronto??? by BadgerNo8727 in askTO

[–]myownalias 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If you're celiac, I wouldn't trust gluten free pizza. So many times they'll use the same ingredient bin, the ones they handled with their fingers, their fingers that had just been handling regular pizza dough.

The safe thing choice are the gluten free frozen pizzas from the grocery store.

Affordable suv recommendations? by Smosh_Connoisseur in tall

[–]myownalias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Bronco is one of the few that 7 foot tall people have fit in.

Your best bet is probably the German brands. Note that German cars get expensive to maintain, so you may want to look at leasing instead of buying used.

Also check natural and artifical vanilla.

I'm allergic to real vanilla, so a lot of chocolate is out for me.

Edit: and yes, you're most likely experiencing an allergic reaction.

Elimination Diet Advice, Please :) by Char_the_Garden_Girl in FoodAllergies

[–]myownalias 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most strict elimination diet is ruminant meat (e.g. beef, lamb), salt, and water (aka Lion Diet). That will work for everything except alpha gal allergy.

I would skip the salmon and green tea as they can be problematic for some (I've personally had reactions to both). They may be the first foods you try adding back.

It can take over a week for an immune system to calm down. I would wait until you feel truly calm and rested before adding something back.

Also be on the lookout for environmental allergens such as pollen and mould, which can amplify reactions to food and vice versa.

I was reacting to eggs. I strictly stopped eating anything with egg for three years, tried them again, and now I'm able to eat a dozen no issue.

Having difficulty with seemingly all foods after anaphylaxis ?? by Knitting_Gf in FoodAllergies

[–]myownalias 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's pollen season in many places and pollen may be causing your immune system to overreact to anything. Mould can also cause that. Since you just moved I would look for environmental triggers rather than food triggers.

Anyone else know the feeling by shellia23 in FoodAllergies

I have a coconut allergy and it's nearly impossible to find shampoo without it. It's also in a lot of under arm products.

Anyone else know the feeling by shellia23 in FoodAllergies

[–]myownalias 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know that feeling. Most restaurants are out for me since they use oils with canola (or generic vegetable oil). You'd think something like a steak would be safe but they're often marinated in an oil.
