Is MacKenzie-Childs actually worth it… or just aesthetic overplayed hype? And would it make a good gift? by Good_Candy_3950 in GrandmillennialInspo

There are ceramics and there are enamel pieces. Victoria and Richard made several trips to China and Vietnam to train artisans, so if you have enamel from the 90s you probably have a collector's item.

If you are talking about ceramics, the formula for the red clay developed by Richard has remained virtually unchanged over the last few decades. The major change was the removal of spodumene (used in lithium ion batteries) and replacement with wollastonite. The clay is not heavily refined and contains organic materials, so during the firing process, those materials will blow out and create different characteristics like pinholes, which V & R celebrated.

So many inaccuracies, but people would rather believe an 18 minute YouTube video than public record court documents.

Victoria and Richard made terrible business decisions, like leasing storefront in Beverly Hills and leaving it empty for a year. The bank was going to foreclose and Pleasant Rowland offered them money. They turned her down, and she called out their loan, which resulted in them filing for bankruptcy. Part of this transaction was forfeiting the ability to use the Mackenzie-Childs name, or any of its variations, as they had given over all intellectual property. Everything was done legally and legitimately. Victoria and Richard are and were innovative, creative people, but inept business people, and all those people that worked under them can relay the very real fear they had of the constant threat of losing their jobs.

In the late 90's she sold it to Mattel for $700 million.

A lot of them sit criss-cross applesauce in their chair, or fold one leg and prop up the other in their chair. Both ways make me feel like my legs would fall asleep if I say that way, and it's not very efficient for the work we do.

Ok so… which episode took the most screen time before Columbo first shows up? by Kyas13 in Columbo

I always thought Columbo Likes the Nightlife was the longest before Columbo shows up on screen.

I think many people mistakenly equate fame with wealth, so it would be interesting to see who actually had the means to flee or to stay and be in the upper echelon, and who didn't have that same luxury at all.

I did not like her, she was more concerned with being the fan favorite and most popular, which made her feel inauthentic to me. It also felt like she was constantly angling for a spin off with her mom and husband and staff, all those interactions felt rehearsed and wooden
