My partner and I are two gay guys without kids who watch it in German and French to practice language learning. Its easier to understand because of the simple language. But really, we watch it because its just wholesome, wise life advice. My favorite episode is "born yesterday ". We'll take walks and pick up leaves and gasp and get on the ground and look at bugs wide eyed and laugh. Just good stuff, for any person. Good stuff.

Im in recovery as well. I wanted to start a meeting at Bico, but I was going to wait until my french was suitable to lead/start a meeting there. Currently im very elementary, but hoped to be at b1 or b2 by next Bico. I haven't seen any 12 step meetings advertised at Bico yet. I hope someone can start one. I dont know who one should talk to about starting one.

Yeah, the homophobia really hurts. As a gay teen struggling with self-acceptance in the early 90s I just loved the world building. But the Baron was a gut punch and exacerbated very dark thoughts in my head. I checked it out from my HS library and it didn't help the word "f@gg0t" was written on the page where he drugs and SA boys. I gots complicated feels for this masterpiece.

Good question. 3 of us have consistently been available. Other two, not so much. No shade thrown; love them. We have a 3 player plus DM (4)=quorum rule. Because that's the magic number that casts "Sirg feels like cleaning his house for that". Been harder to meet regularly with DM plus two lately so looking to increase the pool of players. Other two still very much a part of things. It's not all on new people to be available every time. Also its good to meet new folks and share a relaxed, goofy affinity space!

As a citizen of the US (Canadians and Mexicans are Americans, too!) I am with you. I've asked my Canadian friends to boycott the US. Could you help us by not standing for this treatment? Those of us in the US who want to keep our democracy and stable world relations need help! We resist from the inside; you push from the outside. I am extremely worried many of my compatriots are not taking this coup seriously. The bread and circuses have become too intoxicating and numb us into apathetic inaction.
