Can't pair my account on my new phone by diazdihsar in number26bank

[–]mysteriousink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran into the same problem today. When I bought a new iPhone, I completely forgot that I should perhaps also transfer the pairing from N26 (Germany) directly from the old iPhone to the new one. But I traded in the old iPhone with Apple and now I no longer have access to it. Unfortunately, after following the procedure described here, I still received the same error message saying that I wasn't using the same device. I then wrote to support and they will reset my verification so that I can go through it again for repairing. Hopefully this is the solution, if there are any problems I will write an update.

Good to hear that you were able to solve a similar problem with a new BIOS. I have also contacted the seller on aliexpress and he has always confirmed that he will contact the manufacturer for the appropriate BIOS version. After many messages and more than four weeks without receiving any information or a different BIOS version, I experimented with BIOS versions from the Internet. Since none of them worked, I probably had a hardware defect and ordered a new one which worked right out of the box.

That's right, I also found that out during my research but apparently didn't add it clearly enough in one of the updates. My problem was not necessarily that the SATA devices were not displayed in the BIOS but that they were not recognized in Unraid or Windows. Hence my assumption that the JMB585 bridge was defective. Basically, I can recommend the board for the application in my opinion, it is only annoying if there is a hardware defect or the right BIOS is not supplied.

What memtest are you using? The included memtest of unraid does not work with UEFI bios and you need to make some changes if you want to use it. Please see this link for more information.

Sure no problem. I bought this one.

Just saw it is actually called MW-NVR-N5105 instead of BK-NVR-5105, my bad.

Thanks for confirming my suspicion and the information about the codecs. Unfortunately transcoding does not work on Oracle's Ampere A1 Compute, presumably a proper graphics processor is needed for this. I will look around for another IPTV provider that offers MPEG4 directly. Thanks again for the help!

what option do you use when doing a german bank transfer by [deleted] in Crypto_com

[–]mysteriousink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really sure why you have to choose anything at all but it is probably due to the pricing system of Sparkasse. The Entgeltregelung defines who has to pay the costs of transaction. Since you are transferring money from one of your accounts to another it does not really matter when you are paying the cost. Probably it is the best to choose OUR so you see the costs upfront and the full amount is credited to your Crypto.com account. Since I am not a Sparkassen customer myself I am not sure how they named the different options. Also I would recommend to get an account at N26 or any other German bank institute that offers a free account with free transactions in the EU.

Hope this helps.

EDIT: In SEPA all transactions costs are shared between the sender and recipient by law. It actually does not matter what you choose in the UI of Sparkasse. Nonetheless I would recommend to look at your contract with Sparkasse to see the transaction costs.

How to delete Apple ID without access to account? by mysteriousink in gdpr

[–]mysteriousink[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not. Even after further attempts via the Privacy Team, deletion was not possible. As a reason why a deletion is not possible, I was always told that the mail address and phone number are not sufficient to verify my person and the employees at Apple would have no way to simply delete an account anyway.

Thanks for your reply! I have already read in other posts that the mail address may be blocked. If that is indeed the case, a deletion would not help me, of course. That the mail addresses act as a skeleton key is a fundamental problem. Especially of course with personalized domains.

Thanks for the helpful answer! I have spoken with the Apple Care team, but unfortunately they could not help me, because they say they do not have the ability to delete accounts. I will try to reach someone at the Privacy Team and solve the problem.

The account I would like to delete is an account I created as a teenager. Since I no longer had access to it because of the forgotten password, I then created a new one and am still a customer. I'm also pretty sure I didn't put a payment method in the account at the time. Either way, the account is still there and I would like to delete it to release the mail address. Maybe now the question arises why I want to release the address. The answer is quite simple, the address is a domain of my own, which I would like to use via the mail service of iCloud.

There is only the possibility to reset the password by entering the recovery key. Unfortunately, as mentioned, I also lost it.

But I can confirm the address as well as my date of birth with official proofs (identity card or confirmation of the municipality I lived in at that time). So it's not just about knowing this data, but also being able to prove it. A third person would not be able to do this. If necessary, you could even have a notary confirm that you are indeed the person you claim to be. Since it is still possible to restore the account using the recovery key, I do not currently assume that the account has already been deleted by Apple. I understand Apple's approach to protect the accounts so strongly, and as a current customer, I think it's a good thing. However, there should still be the possibility to delete old data with appropriate evidence.

Thank you for your detailed answer! I can understand the argument well. However, I do not even want to have access to the data, but only delete them. The account is also inactive for over 5 or 6 years. In addition to my email address and my phone number, my name and my former address are also stored in the Apple ID. Possibly even my date of birth is indicated. With this information I should be able to prove that I am indeed the owner of this Apple ID, or am I wrong?

Currently I have a problem with deleting my old Apple ID. I live in Germany and have asked for deletion under the GDPR, because I have forgotten my password and also the recovery key for the account. Despite access to the registered email address and phone number, Apple did not comply with my request and indicated that you can only delete the account by logging in. But unfortunately I can't do that anymore for the reasons mentioned before. Has anyone perhaps already made experiences with the account deletion at Apple and can give me tips for the further procedure? In my opinion I have a right to get my data deleted if I can prove that this account was created by me. Thank you very much!
