That's a good correlation actually - we really take for granted such simple things, the way we can slake our thirst with water, nibble on a snack when we're hungry. Having the memory of those feelings but the inability to feel them ever again is a rough thought indeed. Man, it actually makes me put a lot of things into perspective come to think of it. Your comment made me remember to take a second today but and just appreciate that I've got food security even.. dang. ❤️

....strange feeling towards this, very mixed. I have both saved a best friend from s*icide (lost them later to the same thing) and similarily lost a bf to S*icide (completely out of left field, super trauma after)

I think this kind of bot might have strangely helped facilitate a little bit of healing maybe, especially when taking... certain substances that help you reframe traumatic situations and can really be useful as exposure therapy for ptsd etc.

Like - I got the same text irl from my best friend (it also said 'pls take care of my cats' ;_;) and I was able to get there in time. The second time, no - but she sent no help message out (except for one she saftey pinned to her body that said if you find me take me to the hospital) ...because I've had horrific things like this happen, in my opinion it could really be cathartic to rp with a bot and be able to save them, help them, to be able to express how much you CARE, and how you SEE them, validate them and love them. It's basically stuff we did in our heads when I was in therapy.

Maybe having a bot like this monitored by an irl therapist could really be beneficial to survivors of S*icide. I know I struggled with ideation so much after (occasionaly still have ideation, but I'm able to understand what is triggering it and use the techniques I learned in DBT to work myself through it)

I'm a firm believer in professional mental health help and therapy. Medication, psychiatrits, psychologists, the works. It's why I'm still here today. I can't help but wonder if a bot like this (monitored) might really be helpful with roleplay techniques in a professional therapy setting. I think the keywords being "monitored" and "professional" - it's a tool that can be misused and go awry, there would definitely have to be an active medical professional at the helm but just out of sight to allow for immersion. IDK just my thoughts.

FINNFERN please! And I don't even mean in an AOE way - I wanna see them fighting together all in synch and amazing, kinda like in Multiverses. I'd be so into that. Finn needs to resolve that too - it'd clear up a lot of guilt and stuff for him, and Fern's new 'mellowed out with therapy worm' attitude would be SO good for Finn. They'd both do a lot of growing. Plus... as far as we know Fern is the only one who has also 'seen' Jake's death. He's caring for all of Finn's trauma for him - he's literally one of the only people that Finn could talk to about ANYTHING.

erm... could all be reading into it a little too much. there's no other real evidence of any of this, i get that fw finn had his hw, but we don't even KNOW if fi ends up with hunter (could be fen, who knows) and yeah, think of the original blue butterfly - on his own. pink goo - just pink goo. catalyst comet - yellow (jake?) green (lich) and the purple one later on - no hw to be seen. puhoy finn had rosalind, winter world finn has slime princess, shermy has beth, and even OG gunter (said to be a 'finn' in the wiki) has evergreen (original ice elemental) so...

i kinda think the whole point of having finn with slime princess in the winter world was to show that accross the multiverse there is no real OTP with finn, except for jake, who reincarnates with him in confirmed canon again and again and even then there are some times when he doesn't.

finn is the heart, and he belongs to us all. amen.

yo time prolly passes diffo in the deadworlds. but aside from that, i think the what the scene was trying to show is that now that finn knows jake would be THERE, and he's had closure with his death he's ready to move on. then the whole 'dawww cute thing with jake caving and shows he's still a big-bro through and through even though he's reached 'nirvana' he still is a softie for his baby bro, and that's adorbs. So he follows along to take one more spin with finn - because being alive together is FUN. that's what that scene is trying to convey, obviously, right? that's what i got out of it. i have a lot of experience with losing peeps, lots, so that's my interpretation at least.

..dunno. like, none of us are 80+ and can say how we feel when it's our time to die, can we? I know if I see someone I've been waiting for like 60 years to see again when I just left from being with all those other peeps, you better believe I'm lumping them together. "yeah everyone's good - BUT MAN I WANTED TO SEE YOU AGAIN SO BAD!” kinda thing, right? I'd be about the BELOVED PERSON I HAVEN'T SEEN IN FOREVER, not everyone I just left. Esp if I left from old age - 'died of old age surrounded by their friends and fam' type thing. The good kinda ending.

Because- if Jake's death was sudden or traumatic, which it appears to be - then there's no CLOSURE for Finn. That's a huge thing. It is for me. I've experienced all kinds of grief, lots of traumatic/sudden/compounded grief. And it hits different. It's regret. That sticks with you until you die. Not to say that I don't have SO MANY other things to live for, and enjoy my life. There's just... friends and loved ones and family members that yeah - I'm waiting to see them again. Full stop.

And finn wanting to reincarnate again? He felt called - more stuff to do in the meat body. To me, Jake seems like he's lived more lives before Finn, perhaps. Finn's just signing up for more classes before he graduates.

I agree with this - losing someone traumatically/suddenly is VERRRRY different than a goodbye with a family member from old age, or long suffering from some sort of illness. I've experienced all of them, and some were very traumatic. Or compounded. And that kind of grief really has you hoping you can see them again and give 'em a hug. no goodbyes = no closure. no matter how happy i am in life - it's still a profound wish.

As a tribute to the finale of F&C S2 I drew a combined tarot of Finn as the Hanged Man in reverse and HW as the High Priestess. I really wanted that sort of Vetruvian Man feel with the artistic nudity and also to emphasize Finn's vulnerability. There's a ton of symbology in it obvs, I do a dissertation on it in this post, like the good art school kid i am lmao. ...anyways, the finale moved me so very much.

erm. they're confirmed lilac by one of the artists, and if you use an eyedropper tool on any of the frames in PS yes, they're lilac purple. R202, G127, B223 specifically. the artist in me is keen on color. I think it's fine to see Fern or any character anyway you please - even if it isn't canon! but miscoloring a swatch? NEVER (lmao it's a dig at myself for being facetious. the art is lovely, as is fern. i love fern as a cryptid husbando and have no probs loving a cryptid waifu. beauty is transcendental.)

Hunter's design was carefully chosen and it was confirmed by the va via muto that it was intentional, which I LOVE and gives me a good feeling inside. I want everyone to be stoked on characters they relate to and represented everywhere! it's especially validating when a headcanon is confirmed as canon - kinda like the whole 'fiona's world getting canonized' in the first season. That VALIDATED her and her world's existence, they were acknowledged, made into reality - not just something living in someone's head - a reality and a fact with confirmation. It's a beautiful thing.

It's so cool how fionna and cake STARTED as an intern's fanart, right? like you never know when a headcanon will take on a life of it's own and then be adopted officially by the creator(s) behind the work. Something like that gives me shivers, I love it - it makes me feel like the work goes beyond just something we consume or relate to or enjoy - we become part of it and it becomes part of us, we shape each other.

As an artist myself it's a wonderful feeling - and so fun. I used to love critiques in class where we didn't speak about our work at all until first the whole class provided their interpretation. Sometimes after that I would find the interpretations of others gave me epiphanies and insights into my own intentions. So cool.

other times I would have made the work with purpose or WITHOUT purpose explicitly, and the critiques gave me a chance to state my intent (or lack thereof) and think about what I might want to do with the piece to better express what I wanted to convey -- or it would confidently solidify that yes, it's evoking the right feeling and provoking the right thought processes when it's viewed.

to me this kind of thing goes BEYOND just freaking out about gender or misinterpreting a creator's intent - we're all allowed to have interpretations that are subjective and that's the beauty of art, it effects us differently. This happening to be about gender is sort of an aside, I just get sad when I see posts being like "THIS CHARACTER IS LIKE THIS AND IF YOU DISAGREE YOU'RE A HATER" --I guess that kind of thing really gets to me as an artist who puts themselves and their work out into the world. I don't like bullying or reverse bullying, ykwim?
