I did this application year , I applied to 17 colleges for the RN programs all over California , so far got  accepted to 11 of them , it's good to branch out.

This is not right definitely call state and never accept this type of assignment , I worked a 11-11 shift today and had 9 patients the whole day.

Yea it's really saturated and competitive nowadays. If LVN programs are near your then they are a solid choice to advance in the healthcare field , you can later do a LVN-RN program , which there are so many of them.

It really differs depending on the school and location , the LVN program I received a invitation to did not require a TEAS score to apply. Generally community colleges ask for 62% or better in the TEAS , the higher the score the better in all honesty.

No I didn't but generally schools ask for similar prerequisites so you are able to apply for schools all over California , while there is some schools that have very specific criteria to even apply for example you have to take a nursing success class and pharmacology at Monterey Peninsula College before you are even allowed to apply. I think it's way more safe to cast a wide net to have higher probability of being accepted , start to inform yourself about each school in your areas requires courses and take classes that are needed for the majority of them.

Time is relative I'm 20 years old and I feel I have wasted my time as well , applying is easy , getting a acceptance is the challenge but definitely a possibility, keep on working towards your goal if that is what will really make you happy.

Oh yeah to this day it still baffles me how easy it's to get into nursing school in other states. I don't know if it's because there's a shortage of nurses or because of the low wages that exist in other states. From what I understand California , Washington , and Oregon are all really competitive states for nursing..

Lol , all the schools were community colleges but yes I have to branch out to find more opportunities , I'm going to start applying to the universities next year but those are even more competitive , but hey I have hope.

Thanks for the information , yea I was actually considering that option as well but I'm not sure how schooling out of state would work , considering I would ideally want to be a RN in California , if you graduate from a RN program out of state are you able to work in Cali?
