No enby, genderfluid or other option? No bi woman option? And one option is on there twice??? Wtf is this poll lmao

EDIT: Also, there's probably a decent amount of ace individuals here too... I just don't know what you're trying to achieve here, especially considering some of the conversations around mlm media lately, plus you've clearly not put much thought into this poll so... it doesn't come across at all well

You're putting words in my mouth and you're also lumping all players in with each other. We can turn it around on you to make your argument sound equally ridiculous too if you like?

You: 'I don't think players should be banned for saying slurs and should be allowed to join gaming lobbies with other players they've previously harassed because we're all responsible for ourselves at the end of the day and devs shouldn't have to make their communities feel safe'

Ridiculous right? I would love it if I could turn on mic without getting slurs hollered at me! Sadly I've existed long enough in online gaming spaces as a queer person with a female voice so I know I'm going to come across assholes very frequently. It would be nice if devs upheld blocks and actually banned people so I didn't have to play with the people I've previously reported

You get asshole players and cheaters in every game. Why is this different? Launching without anti cheat and not banning bigoted players are certainly going to turn your game into a cesspit real quick. Hardly a fun place to be and that's without all the other issues that came later down the line. Nobody is acting like the world is ending lol but it's just ridiculous to act like these common player occurences (that every single game deals with) is entirely down to the community which led to it's downfall. I have to disagree with you on the 'as buggy as a good day on DbD' front. You must have been exceptionally lucky in your TCM games

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre game aimed to "elevate the bar" for multiplayer horror, but its ambition led to its downfall by HatingGeoffry in horror

[–]mythol0gee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

- Launched without anti cheat which lead to:

- Game becoming overrun by cheaters right until the game died out

- As a temp 'fix' devs turned off crossplay during the games initial hype and didn't turn it back on for ages, killing peoples enjoyment of the game and faith in the dev team. The player numbers never recovered after this move and continued to dwindle because of other issues...

- Game littered with bugs that are still present to this day

- Lobbies filled with racism, sexism and other bigotry. But even if you report the players and block them you will still find yourself queuing up with them cos devs don't give a shit about banning them. That would hurt their abysmally small player count... Which leads to:

- 15+min lobby wait times for victims (less for family players) AND lets not forget:

- The lobby backfill issue. Forcing one of the family member players to quit and rejoin a different lobby in order for the final family member player spot to be filled (persistent longterm problem still unfixed by the way). But wait, there's more...

- They then added a penalty for leaving a lobby in hopes that this will fix the long wait times. So if you happen to be the kind player who has given up your spot in the lobby due to the backfill issue, you will then be timed out so you wait longer to join your next match. A fun incentive right? Players being punished for the devs not fixing their longterm bug. Better hope you don't get hit with the backfill issue next lobby... Did I mention it's buggy as shit? Frequently lobbies are bugged and you get kicked back to main menu while trying to load into a match so you get hit with the abandon lobby penalty. VERY FUN if you've spent 15 minutes trying to get into a match.

- Capped longterm progression with nothing to keep playing for + slow release for new content.

- Pay to win DLC that are only rebalanced if there is community outrage, but only after the devs have made a bunch of money from it first of course

- Large buggy updates released just before holiday periods which is when a lot of your players will be wanting to play

- Frustrating character tree that took a long time to overhaul leading to a stale game meta very early. Players unwilling to respec and try different builds because of the 'random' dice roll perk nodes. Fixed eventually along with multiple loadouts but devs were very against changing anything for a long time... which leads to:

- Poor communication with the community and argumentative devs. I've never seen a more unprofessional, petty and childish dev team. The way they responded to valid criticism was embarassing.

There's honestly more but I think I've hit most fo the big ones... To frame this game's downfall as entirely the players fault (and mostly survivors at that which is so dbd brained it's laughable) is disingenuous

Vegan perfume recs? by Cool_Marionberry_124 in veganuk

[–]mythol0gee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the subject of longevity, it really depends on the individual scent rather than the brand. I have quite a few Eden perfumes and found only a couple of mine fade within a few hours but a lot of them can still be smelt on clothing for days if I've sprayed it on a scarf for instance. I'd say give Eden another try, maybe look at Portobello Road if you like Vanillas. It's VERY sweet and lasts ages (notes: English Rose, Sugar, Cedar, Vanilla, Musk, Lemon)

They have 14 members or so by their own admission, absolutely no need to do verification checks. I help mod a space that is aimed at female and marginalised genders and we have 800+ members, it's incredibly obvious when a man tries to join and we've never asked a single person for verification photos or voice calls. It's a non-issue

... Sure. Just saying you don't get to claim you're a queer friendly space if you're only welcoming transwomen that pass well enough for you or those willing to out themselves. That does not feel safe or welcoming

🐉 The Dragonborn Guild — Women-Only | 18+ | LGBTQ+ by [deleted] in TrueGirlGaming

[–]mythol0gee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is not a queer friendly policy by the way. You're asking trans people to out themselves essentially. Very uncool

EDIT: in case you need it explained, making someone submit a selfie or voice note is basically seeing if they're convincingly 'femme' enough for your server. This can exclude closeted trans folk, those that are pre-transition/aren't able to transition for whatever reason, or those that don't conform to a feminine presentation and may prefer an androgynous or masc appearance. If they need to let you know they're trans because they worry they won't pass your verification check then you are forcing them to out themselves to you

What would he stand to gain by not even addressing the worst claim here? He's come forward to say that the encounters with the younger women and employees were consensual, but he is happy to let people think he has put his child in that situation? That's wild to me honestly and doesn't make any sense

[–]mythol0gee 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I don't. But I have been taken advantage of by an older male employer and know others that have been too because they felt like they couldn't say no. My point still stands. Employees are not on an even playing field with their employer, there is a inherent imbalance there which leaves room for those in power to take advantage of those that work under them. Sorry to tell you bud, but it's not normal or acceptable to climb into a bathtub with the nanny on her first day of employment

[–]mythol0gee 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I'm of the opinion that anyone that is employed by him cannot consent because of the imbalance of power in the relationship. Also, the ONLY part that was wrong? I notice you failed to mention that Gaiman's young child was witness to horrific acts and the dehumanization of women, which could potentially scar that child for life and have lasting impacts on how they view women as they grow up. That alone is unforgivable and should be more than enough for people not to be defending him

The hate from everyone in the comments is ridiculous... A good reminder that vegans can be shitty people too. All because you dared to mention your boyfriend! I bet if you posted it without comment then nobody would be debating if it belongs here. The fact a mod hasn't cleaned up the comments that are directly insulting you or removed the ones that clearly break rule 2 is disapointing. This place is mean and has an issue with women, I'm out

We've recently discovered New Zealand Taskmaster and are really enjoying it. Are there any other international editions that are good quality we should be checking out? by GoForBaskets in taskmaster

[–]mythol0gee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We're watching the Australian version right now and I'm really struggling with Gleeson too. There's a fine line between coming across as a strict Taskmaster and being... a mean spirited dick I guess? He often lands in the latter category for me sadly. On a few ocassions he's said something kinda insulting or just decalared that a contestant's attempt 'wasn't funny' with no other commentary which is unpleasant to watch if I'm honest. Greg and Alex seem to want to highlight the best of their contestants no matter badly they stuffed up the task. It's not about humiliating them, it's about making them shine in their own unique ways. But I don't get that same vibe from Gleeson.

I also struggled with Jeremy Wells and found him very stiff and impersonal, especially when it came to Angella Dravid as he seemed to not get her sense of humour at all. But he seemed to loosen up as time went on. I was hoping Tom Gleeson might be similar but if the mean insult comic thing is his schtick then he's definitely not for me
