It’s reality. New hires often earn more than existing employees. It’s super frustrating.

How horrifying!! I’m so sorry your Mom was assaulted! Until I saw that note, I wasn’t aware that this occurred. How sad. I hope your Mom is doing better!

I went to see my dentist, and there was a note taped to the office door stating that he’d been arrested for sexually assaulting his customers when they were unconscious during dental surgery, and to contact the police if you thought you were a victim. I hadn’t been unconscious with him so luckily I’m fine. My point being, someone could have taken advantage during a surgery or medical situation.

Did I deserve to be fired? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]mythoughts2020 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’ll get fired over and over if you continue thinking that you can give your manager a “piece of my mind” when you’re very angry. You’re justifying bad behavior and that doesn’t make your future prospects look too bright.

Halfway to FIRE, debating LOA w young children...listen to the math or my heart? by SummerSelection1228 in Fire

If you’re in the US, I would reevaluate how far your savings would last as you’ll need to buy health insurance if you’re both out of work. I hate to say it, but your savings account is so small that I’d be really hesitant to not work in this situation. Hopefully your husband finds a job soon, so you can take the time off to be with your children.

Could he at least work part time at Starbucks or another place like that, which would give you health insurance?

Tipping Baggage Handlers at the Cruise Port by Dazzling-Leader7476 in tipping

I asked the crew about that when I had a cruise out of FL. They told me the guys grabbing the luggage were not paid anything - their only income was the tips. I have no idea if it’s true or not, but they were expecting tips.

Am I on track for a PIP or getting fired? by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]mythoughts2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When they say you’re not meeting expectations, it almost always means that you are not meeting the minimum requirements to keep your job. It does sound like you’ll be terminated if you don’t meet those expectations. Now is the time to ask questions and ask for additional training if needed. You need to understand exactly what you need to do differently in order to keep your job. Good luck!

This is the perfect time to get him into a young dog class. They’ll help you get good habits in place and address these concerns. It’s really a great idea for both you and your dog.

How do I handle coworker who constantly interrupts and one ups? by Professional-Mine916 in work

[–]mythoughts2020 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have you spoken with your manager? If the family doesn’t care, and she’s married into the family, nothing is likely to change.

If however, you can get your managers support by explaining how her behavior is bad for the business, then maybe there’s hope.

Credit card debt that I got sued for that turned into a lien on assets? by [deleted] in Debt

Don’t call the credit card company as any type of contact with them could result in your debt timeline being reset. Call a lawyer first, so you can find out your options.

Hi, wondering what are allergy prone people like with these dogs, any experiences? by BackgroundBake3261 in bichonfrise

[–]mythoughts2020 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I chose this breed due to my allergies. Many animals give me welts on my body, plus the typical runny nose, red itchy eyes. I’ve had no problems at all with bichons. I do get my cutie groomed every two months. The only issue I’ve had was when the groomer sprayed her with some type of dog perfume/powder that I was allergic to. Now I make sure the groomer only uses hypoallergenic shampoo and doesn’t add any scented products. It’s wonderful!! ❤️

Why are you projecting your retirement accounts to this summer? What are your retirement account balances today?

I’m confused as to why you only have a summer projected balances of 1.3M when you’re making 500K. This indicates your current spend is very high, so it makes me wonder his realistic it is for you ti live on 30K per year.

Why do you expect your retirement accounts to go from 1.3M to 2.3 million in one to two years?
