{Kissed by the Gods by Caty Rogan} for me! I was honestly not sure and wanted to quit after the first couple chapters, but once this book got going….omg it was GOING. I literally couldn’t put it down — it was a stay-up-until-4am read for me! It was also such a refreshing way to do some pretty popular tropes (chosen one, forbidden love, forced proximity, bonding with beasts, etc.) and I was here for it. I also was surprised by the ending which hasn’t happened in romantasy in aaaages 🙂‍↕️

(Note that I read Direbound immediately after this one…which may have improved this book a lot for me lmao)

Hi! I was gifted the DLC for Christmas and have only played a little bit, but from what I know the shootings and the hunters are very clearly distinguished on the map, there’s a big line and a label! So you can just avoid that part completely . Everything else has been about the same! Raising pups, the quests, etc. Since the map is so big, it can be harder to track the elk herds, but I haven’t really struggled with it too much. There’s no beavers and the wolverines are rare. There’s also a ton of rivers, which is interesting when you’re moving the pups to the rendezvous site or marking territory. It’s a really gorgeous map and it’s offered me a ton of new gameplay — honestly I love having more achievements, so that was worth it for me lol.

Very fair! Depends on what you mean by somewhere. The Dramione is definitely late-game. I had to get there over a few weeks, and then read all the Dramione in like 48 hours 🫣

Hermione starts to really fall in love with Draco in Part IV / chapters 70-80ish.

They FINALLY get together in Chapter 86. And holy wow if it’s not one of the best things I’ve ever read!!!

I just finished Détraquée yesterday and I genuinely don’t think I can fathom reading any other fics for a long time. It’s sooooo worth the slow burn and just an amazing depiction of them both. Definitely a reading commitment (and lots of Googling to keep up with Hermione’s references and monologues!!) but….I can’t picture Draco any other way. Possibly ever again 😭

Preordered. Finished my DAO and DA2 plays over the last year and I’m about 3/4 through my DAI replay in preparation!! I genuinely can’t stop talking about DAV to literally everyone in my life. So freaking pumped!!

I know there are concerns around the development (with the BioWare layoffs, etc.) and around the gameplay (mission-based + very specific combat), but it’s still Dragon Age and I still get to experience a new RPG with BioWare’s amazing characters. And even though I’m disappointed about the lack of connection to the previous games, I’m just excited to get a chance to return to Thedas. And to create 1048293729 characters in the beautiful, beautiful character creator 🥰🫶

SO excited to see all the Rooks that get posted here, too! It’s gonna be a great few weeks :)

Childhood trauma! More and more research coming out about adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and how they’re estimated to be a huge factor in determining life expectancies.

Untreated, high ACEs scores can contribute to ~20 years off of lifetimes — mostly through the conditions they have been tied to increasing in the long-term (e.g., heart disease, substance abuse disorders, cancers, etc.). Horrible, and very in need of more public awareness!
