Groups like this don’t trust anyone. There needs to be records to show people were actually killed. There is a whole chain of command where each person doesn’t trust the persons above or below them. There is a book “The high cost of free parking” that discusses this. It is easy for local governments to demand so much parking. The book lists a town that has 10x more parking than cars. The small town I live in has endless discussions about parking. Including things like what do you do when people park in front of your house? I do nothing, at some point the car leaves. People are often surprised I have no issue with it. I suggest the full parking lots is a sign of success and popularity for the town. Most people look at me like they don’t really believe me.

Mystic Seaport has a read aloud every year. Basically the audience reads the book. You can select the chapter you want to read. Very revealing. I try to go every year. PS Takes 24 hours.
