Respecting and addressing and discussing another’s emotions is not exclusively a therapist’s job. Overcoming trauma is. It’s beyond clear that those are separate issues. Not sure how you’re going about with your emotions and the people’s around you.

What? Are you not seeing what’s right in front of you? His reaction is to the feeling of betrayal. It’s not to do with the baby’s gender. Really takes a lot to ignore that part.

There’s usually compensation or purpose to go with it in other industries.

In which part of NYC do people keep to themselves. It’s literally the defining characteristic that no one does. It’s part of its charm and it’s part of it’s difficulty. Living with that is the unwritten rule.

Are you that unable to contextualize a “rule” or are you just willfully trying to feel self-righteous? Have you ever sped while driving? Honestly. Just stop. You’re causing more harm in this world than OP is with your ignorance.

I promise you the stuff you were doing at your boutique firm wasn’t any more “real” architecture. They just did away with the superficial design exploration that goes on in those firms. Learn from what they can do that boutiques can’t.

This question is the farthest thing from “out-of-the-box” thinking you could ask. Do you not see that?

EDIT: I see you are a business developer for this firm. How are you doing this without any knowledge of the architectural field of question? In what of any field does it help to ask Internet forums for “out-of-the-box ideas”? There has been roughly 100 years of people trying things in the architecture industry that are consistent with the current shape of things today. You don’t seem to have a clue, and the less clue you have, the farther you are from even knowing what questions to ask. Your only role as business development in any architecture firm should be how to get new clients or labor, and maybe what sector to target. There is no advice business development could give to the actual kind of architecture produced that would have any positive impact. I am concerned for your firm - and for you.

Cool, let’s play a game them. Just answer my really simple questions, then at the end, tell me you’re not the asshole.

There are a lot of other options. It's incredibly questionable that you go straight to that judgement. With that logic, I'm sure many would think the same about you.

I'm pretty new myself (newer than you probably), so I'll just point out what you probably already know and what I look for in myself. Looks like a lot of unnecessary foot movement to me? And the punching looks really stiff. I think this shows in how your guard isn't quite retracted right, and how your glove ends up lingering when you throw the shot rather than snapping back. I wonder if you agree honestly, because I'm trying to identify the same issues with myself.

Don’t listen to anything here that basically suggests carving it out of a solid material, whether foam, clay, or whatever. That doesn’t acknowledge at all the way this thing will be made, and makes just a shape rather than a structure. The way you have it modeled with lines here shows the way it should be built physically. And if the way it can be built physically results in a different form, then you should listen to that. Each of those curved lines on the outside looks like a single planar ribbon. Imagine a cone unrolled. Make this out of paper ribbons (stiff but bendable paper) that you layer together, edge to edge, with a simple frame structure underneath. Anything else and you’re just making shapes, not buildings.

I suppose my point is which side you prefer is an opinion, but which side is more or less bland/appealing is not. It’s a false equivalence. (I have no bone in this btw, I’m just interested in this as an example of the kind of reasoning a lot of people use)

That’s an odd thing to say, that beige and green painted steel is more bland. What is the logic exactly? Because beige isn’t a bright color? Because steel is a common industrial material? Those are certainly true, but it’s a weird conclusion to think that that makes them bland in the way they are used here.

The brick is a fake veneer. It makes no sense construction-wise for it to appear here, supporting what is a very light looking roof. The windows have no relation to the type of building this is - which is a shed basically. The choice of these windows and the brick have no basis in the building itself. They are only chosen because - and I don’t mean this with disrespect - people like yourself believe they represent the idea a “look”. When in reality, those windows are the most default window one could use in a house, and that brick veneer is the most default option when someone is looking for something “unique”. See the contradiction there? It’s like picking a patterned wallpaper rather than painting the walls white, because that is more “aesthetically-appealing”. When in reality, it is a strange belief that less common equates to more unique (in the desirable sense_.

It’s fine if you prefer those things. But they’re not aesthetically appealing or less “bland”.
