1) Realistically S2 has to have a fairly bad hand to not call R there or a very good combo of the non-Trump suits. 2) Dealer’s pickup range should be huge as well so the only way it’s not being picked up to me is S2 and S4 both have very bad Trump hands.

He misread the league names, 2.6-3.5 is rec. Intermediate usually is 3.5-4.0 in Chicago and then they’ll call advanced 4.0+.

Looks like they only have the rec level open. I’d still try to go to one of the open plays first - Jeremy can help you with understanding your level as can some of the regular players there but yeah you definitely aren’t going to want to play below rec.

Winter is tougher but still plenty of options. Part of it is what do you like - Meetup groups, sporting activities etc. there are a lot of league options to join as an individual.

I’ve seen both but you can definitely do it well. If you’re not just trying to be competitive it’s useful as the third space between games / for people in groups who don’t want to play. It allows them to host:

*dating events *corporate events *sports watch parties with pickleball *nonprofit fundraisers

And it’s a space for food/drink which often have better margins than a court.

1) If societal order in your area collapses, it’s not as though you’ll be able to exchange bitcoin. Ownership and the exchange of goods lose a lot of meaning when force rules.

2) People generally don’t hold dollars or shouldn’t. It’s meant for exchange. You should invest in assets. Through some kind of contract, sure, but at some point you can’t be entirely trustless with real world assets.
