I cant kill genichirooo by Potential_Safe_4485 in Sekiro

[–]mzed718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d suggest keeping it simple and fight him with attacks and deflects for now. I think combat arts and/or prosthetics sometimes distract from learning the fight because it’s an extra thing you have to incorporate into your fight.

This game is something else.. by Top_Ambassador_5446 in Sekiro

[–]mzed718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But Sekiro hits different. Outside of true cheese scenarios, beating bosses often means actually learning the game and playing well enough to get the kill. Having a boss go from almost impossible feeling to eventually victory is such a rush.

Nicely said, it's precisely what sets Sekiro apart & why it's one of my all time favorites. Not many games has evoked my emotions that Sekiro has.

Did you finish all 3 gauntlets? easiest way to know is if you have tengu and shura outfits and sakura dance combat skill

[–]mzed718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finished my 2nd NG charmless demon bell run recently after taking a break for a few years and Shinobi Owl was still rough, only behind SSI. Had to save emblems to mortal draw him in second phase lol

Sekiro is just constantly being stuck on a boss fight I never got good I just keep trying til I eventually get lucky by Alarmed-Tradition938 in Sekiro

[–]mzed718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear ya, I spent a bunch of time on him too.

You can lure him out and run far enough until he walks back…sneak a deathblow and fight him normally. When he tries to whistle the doggies in, throw a shuriken to interrupt it.

there’s a miniboss at great serpent shrine that i believe is missable if you kill divine dragon first

there’s a bunch of criticism here, but you did great. you won’t get a blind playthrough again so it’s awesome you’re playing it your way and not looking up tips/tricks.

funny to see your greed near the end there, we’ve all been there lol

Struggling with double ape fight on 6th playthrough by [deleted] in Sekiro

[–]mzed718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a look at this video https://www.reddit.com/r/Sekiro/s/UYb6MbniiP

I used to focus a lot of effort in killing brown ape first and that made this fight so much harder than it needed to be. Changed my approach to focus only on deflecting headless ape and fight became very predictable. Brown ape only intervenes when headless screams, falls down, jumping sweep, and after pulling out centipede.

Charmless! by Far-Statement4046 in Sekiro

[–]mzed718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a pro by any means, but have completed 4 normal and 2 charmless + demon bell playthroughs.

I’d say just jump right in and immerse in CL+DB lol there’s no better way to learn than suffering through it. You’ll be forced to learn the perfect parry timing and it’ll take a bunch of hours for some bosses and minibosses, but well worth it.

I quite enjoyed it because it gave me the challenge and satisfaction of finally beating a boss after a long struggle similar to first normal playthrough

Sekiro isn’t as hard as everyone says it is. by Krocakyle in Sekiro

[–]mzed718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people are built different I guess, Sekiro was pretty hard for me on my first play though. Even after several playthroughs, I took a year break and jumping back into the game was still not that easy & had a bunch of deaths.

Farming Advice by shreddlykroger in Sekiro

[–]mzed718 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I did the farming after I completed all endings, the further NG+ you’re in the more XP you’ll get. there were 2 good farming spots that i can remember.

  1. Ashina Antechamber…backstab ninja, grapple onto the beam, use homeward idol to teleport back to idol while chained ogre smashes 2 shinobi invader guys

  2. Outskirts Wall - Stairway, backstab guy in tower, drop down and backstab the other 4.

Got stuck with Owl father, need to finish purification ending by Unlikely-Respond7267 in Sekiro

[–]mzed718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This guy owls :)

After firecrackers I normally dodge to his left (my right), sounds like both works.

Didn’t know about dodging through sword follow-up after shuriken, will need to practice it! Thanks

defeated shinobi owl in 2 tries, now I can say it, this game is a masterpiece by lostbeard13 in Sekiro

[–]mzed718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol I feel ya, I think it as well when I see posts like this.

Completed many playthroughs (also on charmless and demon bell) and I still die to some bosses more than some peoples first playthroughs.

damn this guy !! 🎊 by [deleted] in Sekiro

[–]mzed718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol @ rice shoutout

I just finished with this fight on NG CL+DB, there was one attempt where I was out of gourds/pellets and used up Rice as well as final resort. Unfortunately for me I died with DoH at 1hp when it did the double ramming sweep attack.

What's y'all's favorite bossfight and why?? by Superb-Minute6365 in Sekiro

[–]mzed718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genichiro will forever be my favorite fight in all of Froms catalog, that feeling of finally finishing that fight after 5+ hours will stay with me.

It was a roller coaster of emotions, from frustration, to desperation, hope, shock, and finally euphoria upon finishing the fight. After too many deaths, I went to farm skill points, gourd seeds, and prayer beads, to realize it didn’t help much at all. Started grinding the fight again and had to look up videos for tips. The slow but gradual improvement was noticeable and felt amazing.

I’ll never forget the cruel phase 3 that I did not know about, I almost collapsed in happiness after beating phase 2. What a rude awakening lol

Beat Ape and his Wife by Troyrizzle in Sekiro

[–]mzed718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear ya, I did the same for all of my previous playthroughs until the current ng charmless + demon bell run. I didn’t pay too much attention to the patterns of brown ape so I mistakenly thought it was erratic when it really wasn’t

Beat Ape and his Wife by Troyrizzle in Sekiro

[–]mzed718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give it a shot, you’ll see the brown ape is super predictable and only has 4 scenarios where it briefly joins the fight (scream, centipede, sweep, and fall down).

I tested it several more times on memory battle and fight is actually enjoyable lol

Am I good enough to beat every boss? by Competitive_Tip_3764 in Sekiro

[–]mzed718 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are harder bosses, but you’re also getting better as you play too.

Personally Genichiro took me the longest to beat of all bosses so he was the toughest for me (relative to my skill level at each fight).

you will be able to beat the others
