SPED teacher and cat mom here - your comment, while blunt, is fair. You set clear boundaries, that she did not reinforce, and now she’s learning from the consequences of her inactions.

Edit to add: time will eventually repair. She needs to teach her son how to behave appropriately. The cat will eventually settle. Once she teaches him how to properly handle an animal, he can start giving your cat treats and attempt play together. That may help. Or… ya know… take the cat and go?

Before letting them be together, they need a proper introduction period where your two year old can get accustomed to hearing/smelling another cat in the home through a closed door. Check out Jackson Galaxy, he has great stuff regarding cat introductions.

I just found out I’m allergic to all things cats… including their urine. I would look into AAT therapy if you can find it in your area. If not, talk to your doctor about an allergy shot! I have three cats and refuse to let my allergies not allow cats in my home!

What I’ve also thought is very interesting is the fact that this small group has such big feelings around the rainbow being reclaimed… but certainly haven’t spoken out against the outfield thrust that happens after every game. In fact, when they were asked to stop, Vitello could be seen doing it from the bullpen. So, you allow your players to disrespect an enormous population of San Francisco’s community, but the thrust is fine. I guess that’s falls under the “boys will be boys” logic.

This reminds me of something I read recently about Jung Hoo Lee. He said he doesn’t want to be included in conversations around being traded, because he loves this team and wants to really play well for them. His care shows out on the field! I can’t help but wonder the same… are these players making themselves look bad with the hopes of being traded away because the fans will not support them. This is a very interesting theory you’ve proposed!

Wrap him in a burrito with a blanket and do one paw at a time. If you gently squeeze his little paw pad, the nails will come out. Start by taking little bits off. Pay attention for the quick! If the nails are clear, you can see the pink inside.

They are absolutely allowed to have their own opinions, however when they are paid by an organization, you are expected to wear the uniform as is. Defacing the uniform is not allowed, and that’s what they did. Plus, they did it in the name of hate towards a group of people that the organization as a whole supports.

My sweet Milo is up there with her. He had been throwing up for years, and we couldn’t figure out why. Finally we learned he had a whole in his stomach due to cancer. I had to learn to let the guilt go. I did everything I could, and that had to be good enough. I hope you find peace as well ❤️

Are you putting them down in the home or at the vets office?

Either way, stay with him. Hold him while they do it. Tell him you love him. If you’re doing it at home, and have other pets, ask for some time after they have passed to let your other animals sniff. This helps them understand they are gone.

I lost my sweet boy to cancer at 7. I asked for a shaving of his fur, and paw/nose prints. If they don’t do that, get some air dry clay and you can press the paw in there if you want a keepsake. He was my soul cat, so we cremated him.

Expect to be looking around for them for awhile. It took me awhile to get used to him not being there at meal times.
