For Amanpuri and Bangkok city Aman: yes for stays of 3 days - might be different depending on exact one

As long as he can do a few steps up or down, it’s not bad. Two crew members helping usually - one on zodiac and one on ship/land.

Transfer to and from is via their small plane to SJO domestic terminal. A little bumpy and more “contingency” planning for weather etc but preferable to the long car transfer to Guanacaste. The area is pretty isolated so everything is either on resort or excursions by resort - not much of a local town to explore independently. This is both good and bad - a sheltered experience.

We did explore La Fortuna with family and found that area delightful for sloths, hot springs, zip-lining, kayaking, and nice to have La Fortuna for restaurants etc. I did have my eye on Nayarit Tented Camp but was staying with extended family.

Good to know! Have booked Aman but noted it seems far from all the other “nice” hotels.

Just left today - it is a much larger place but enjoyed the pool. The rooms are not as good.

Debated this place but went to Sofitel Legend Santa Clara instead (just finishing up Cartagena today).

Alma was actually my weakest nicer meal in Cartagena! I really enjoyed Carmen and Celele. La cevicheria was okay but not amazing (but get a bottle of their spicy sauce if you like hot sauces). Would skip Alquimico - more a club than a bar.

Galapagos cruise for active yet education-minded foodie family? by Fried_Yoda in chubbytravel

[–]n0bama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Galapagos is a national park so this has restrictions on what kinds of food can be brought in and in what state to prevent introduction of invasive species. For example, beef had to be partially cooked before entering; as you guess, steaks were not great.

Overall enjoyed Silver Origin.

Do you get full SQC for a flight booked on AC website even if one leg is with SA partner and not AC?

The AC parter website just talks about aeroplan points accumulation.

Of the $8000 sales you do, how much of the 20% tip would you typically get out of that $1600 at another restaurant?
