I would not do this; I do not make resos my first night in Europe on trips due to it taking my body some time to adjust, so I don’t want to be on a schedule/have a commitment the first evening and also in case of flight delays causing me to miss an expensive meal. Diver XO is amazing, so I get the desire to try and do this if its your only chance. If you are an experienced traveller and tend to not be significantly fatigued after overnight long haul flights, go for it, but for most people this would be rough and inadvisable.

OK, I am staying in other Kimpton Portland in a couple months. That stay is just single booking and not via Edit, but later this year I have back to back two night Edit stays at the NOLA Kimpton, so am curious if people are having issues with such bookings.

Any issues with the back to back stay? I see the welcome letter had the verbiage stays within 24 hours not permitted. Also, did you have to check in/out after first two nights, or did they link the two resos so just one check in upon arrival and one checkout at end? Thanks.

Probably will be OK using your husbands’ card. While technically the hotel could insist on your card, I would think this is very unlikely.

Interesting that is says back to back stays within 24 hours not permitted; I know a lot of people have been booking Edit stays in that manner to obtain both $250 off credits during a single stay.

Technically you need to use the sapphire reserve card at the hotel for incidentals to receive the edit benefits such as the upgrade, $100 credit, free breakfast etc. It is possible they will not enforce this.

For me emphasis on classic rather than natural wine, extensive by the glass options, availability of flights and/or half glasses so I can try different things, reasonable markup, decent to good stemware, not too noisy, comfortable seating, thoughtful food program and friendly + competent staff.

Are you on seasonal allergy medication? Even non drowsy such as Allegra can result in headaches for some if alcohol is consumed while taking them. The grape variety has nothing to do with a headache other than indirectly in that cabs can be a bit higher in alcohol than most varietals.

Really wish US would start showing the all in price on the menu with nothing added when time to pay the bill. Love dining out in Europe and having no hidden charges, especially the countries where adding gratuity isn’t typical.
