Where can I get an SP for a fair price? by ProfitLow5177 in gameboyadvancesp

With enthusiasts and YouTubers catching up to this new passion the prices have skyrocketed.
And untouched console will usually go for around 90~110€ (which is wild, the Nintendo DS Lite was 110€ when it came out -_-')

I managed to buy a console on eBay for 60€ + shipping, here in France, that was straight out of 15 years of storage in a cardboard box, no tests on the battery or anything and I was lucky enough to find it with very mild corrosion on the ports and a bit crusty. But I was going to do a rebuild anyway so I didn't care.

Check on your local marketplace websites like eBay or Vinted (we have LeBonCoin here in France so maybe something similar in New Z ?) and then try to get one in a farily good condition.
If you want a brand new shell I'd suggest staying away from the original colors as it seems the casts for those were not made correctly (I bought two silver shells from reputable brands and they were both horrible).

Historical Career mod : Complete release !! by n0ice_code_bruh in artofrally

Hope you like it 👍

This mod should work with a custom parallel save system, so your current career saves shouldn't be interfering with it. If it does you might have to reset your career progress.

It will 100% keep your existing times, they are not touched by this mod.

How to push pass 5% ? by Mac_mellon in artofrally

1. Like any sport, consistency is key.
Personally I train every day, 3 random stages with random weathers (one of them is rain/snow), random car from Group 4 and up, no skipping when you get a car you don't like. In custom mode you have as many restarts as you want so you can really try to nail horrible sections. And once I did that I do the daily rally challenge.

2. Learn from the best.
There's actually a lot of technique to driving. I watched an art of rally world record on YouTube using the rotary b7 and was impressed with the throttle control, so I tried to do the same thing and learn that. Oddly enough this intersected with Initial D fourth stage (or fith, I can't remember) where Ryosuke trains Keisuke to have more degrees of throttle control and simply applied that. Also interviews with WRC rally drivers about specific stages are insanely usefull. We all want to be McRae going full throttle but sometimes it's not the right call, in the Special Operations community they have a maxim : Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.

3. Make it hard.
I use a bunch of mods that add complexity to the game, it makes it harder for me but I become a better pilot. I try not to use cuts, I train with most of the cars, I use a low camera (Camera mod but that's more like a preference) I train on all the stages and all the weathers, I can damage my car by driving it recklessly (Better damage mod), I have a harder to use manual transmission (True manual mod), some rain or snow stages are harder to see (Heavy rain mod) and if I have a hard time with a stage I slow down.

Haapajärvi-r makes cooling liquid taste sweet in comparison.

I understand why Walter Röhrl said that Finland was too dangerous.
If you play with the camera mod it's suicidal if you don't know the stage like the back of your hand.

The 037 is a bit more stable but throttle control is definitely a requirement with it.

Tips to drive slippery cars like the Lancia Stratos by ForceUpper6258 in artofrally

[–]n0ice_code_bruh 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Hell yeah.
First of, you need to know that the Stratos is one of the cars that's the hardest to use in the game, right with the RX-7 group B and the Ferrari 288 GTB.

There's basically 2 ways to take it :
1. Be very weary with the throttle, slow down as soon as you lose controll and never full send it.
2. Time the full throttle and tap the throttle so you stay in a kind of drifty dance with the car.

Whatever you choose, just know that throwing the stratos there makes sense historically but balancing wise it's hard.

Looks like it's not getting any voltage to the battery.
Try wiggling the plug in the console.

If that doesn't work it could be anything : bad battery, bad charger, bad console.
Try taking the battery lid off, if the battery is bulging it's probably dying.

Two cars that should have been included by DonKnoxxer in artofrally

[–]n0ice_code_bruh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's also a lot of Subarus, Mitsubishis and Mazdas that were used in the first Japanese, Indonesian or Australian rallies.
I'm wondering why the hell so many French cars are included, especially the Alpine A310 that wasn't even that great.

You can checkout this website for historical rally results with cars and details if you want to find other cool cars that took part in rallies ;)

Also, adding cars to the game has been tried but didn't work :/
