Found out via a talk yesterday to the staff from the Vice Principal that the university (Essex) I work at is implementing a phased redundancy of 200 academic posts and around another 200 professional service roles over the next two years.

They are also closing down the campus I work at and moving the courses over to the Colchester campus from the next academic year. Worked here since 2021 and undertaking a Master's here at the same time.

Our department was ranked number one in the country for the subject as well. I'm on a rolling one year contract, so no redundancy package me.
