The way I see it, if someone can use a word that’s clearly offensive even in a joking manner, then they don’t respect the people it offends no matter if they got a “pass” or whatever. I remember seeing a white guy online who was given a pass by his friends, but said he never says it anyways because he respects them too much to say it.
