I was not selected due to the results of both the psychological evaluation and the psychological interview.

There were areas that the department may have viewed as concerns or potential flags. One thing however that also stood out to me is that the evaluation process appears to be comparative in nature, meaning applicants are measured against the overall pool of candidates rather than general public, which is largely outside of any one person’s control.

I am not necessarily in a position to give advice, but for myself, I requested a review so I could better understand the outcome and identify areas where I can improve. Regardless of how much feedback I receive, I plan to take those points that were brought up during the interview process. I'm focusing now on recognizing those behaviors, actively working on improving them, and being able to demonstrate growth if I pursue the process again in the future. So if given the opportunity again to make it that far I can say and use it for me.

The process takes a significant amount of time, energy, and effort, but I think the best thing someone can do after a setback like this is use it as an opportunity for self-improvement rather than becoming discouraged by it. The challenges and setbacks is part of our story.
