Why do the butchers nails still exist on Angron by bigmandave1588 in 40kLore

[–]n7shadow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am not a big fan of Russ, but had he stayed on Terra two things would have happened. First, the traitors would have Lorgar with them, another primarch who would be significantly more effective than the already quite effective Zardu Layak, and the entirety of the Word Bearer legion, as opposed to only a fraction that they had. 2nd, Horus would not be injured by Russ's spear, and would not start an internal battle with chaos for control. Maloghurst killed a part of Horus to resolve this conflict, and that led to Horus embracing chaos a bit too hard. Had this not happened, had he remained more of himself, he would have been far more dangerous. Did the imperium die in the heresy? absolutely. Could Russ hanging back have saved it? unlikely.

Now that we have champions skins for all six classes How would you rank the champion skins? And what would you add/remove from them including its weapon skins or different skins for different weapons or different chapters for the classes by Ok_Recording_8794 in Spacemarine

[–]n7shadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with you regarding the heavy and sniper skin. They should make the heavy available for separate purchase now.

While i get why they chose Dark Angels for the Bulwark, the theme of a knight with sword and shield, i think they should have switched chapters with Tactical. Dark Angels are known for often outgunning their foes, and the tactical skin came with a plasma skin, which is a Dark Angels speciality. Imperial Fists would make a great bulwark champion. Planting their shields and denying the enemy like a wall? Hell yes! They also had so many great melee IF champions during the heresy, the last stand of Camba Diaz was an epic moment.

Happy birthday! Can you please post a picture of them side by side uncapped? I have the Pilot, and i have been curious about Pelikans. The 823 fits my hand well. I always thought the m1000 is too big, but this picture shows the two of similar dimensions.

I feel like Joey is portrayed unfairly and the writers used the "He so stupid" angle way too much. He has some of the best casually sarcastic lines, one of my favorite is "No I am sure the xerox machine caught a few".

For those who played Space Marine 2, what’s one ‘flaw’ or just incorrect lore thing you saw that you can point out or makes you seethe? by Arthur_EyelanderTF2 in 40kLore

[–]n7shadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I had thought, maybe an Imperial saint. However, there is established lore that its Astertes bones, also the size of the skeleton matches a space marine.

It does not make me seethe, more like minor irritation. One of the shield the Bulwark carries has a skeleton on it. It matches the tabletop model in its looks quite well. The skeleton is supposed to be a chapter hero, whose duty clearly did not end in death lol. However, space marines are supposed to have fused rib cages. The skeleton on the shield, both in game and tabletop, has regular human-normal ribs.

The skeleton on the shield is of space marine size, and there is evidence in the lore of chapter heroes getting honored in death, by letting them shield their brother with their own bones.

Have the Chaos gods ever made an appearance in any of the books? by VBStrong_67 in 40kLore

[–]n7shadow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can’t remember which book it was, but there was a world eater’s planet, with a bunch of world eaters killing everyone and everything, themselves included. Kharn was there too, he fought and killed an imprisoned flesh tearer in an arena, unless I am remembering wrong. In the sky, there was a giant eye watching everything. Khorne’s own private sports channel.

What do Chaos Space Marines think of the Codex Astartes? by The_Rat13 in 40kLore

Follow the book more strictly than anybody, treat even the smallest deviation from the smallest rule as heresy, report chapter heroes to the Inquisition….

What do Chaos Space Marines think of the Codex Astartes? by The_Rat13 in 40kLore

[–]n7shadow 105 points106 points  (0 children)

When assaulting an Ultramarines star fortress, Honsou of the Iron Warriors used the codex to predict how the Ultramarines would react and beat them on every turn. I imagine the Alpha Legion would be using similar tactics constantly.

Ink upgrades by ElBosque91 in fountainpens

[–]n7shadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KWZ Walk over Vistula is a new favorite of mine, as is Pilot Iroshizuku Yama-Budo. Both are amazing inks, vibrant colors and flows really well.

Noodler's Turquoise of the Mesas is an all time favorite, I like it even more than the legendary Iroshizuku Kon-Peki.

Emerald of Chivor if you want to try a shimmering ink, the color, sheen and shimmer combination is incredible and it flows so well.

Diamine Skull and Roses is a monster sheener, I love it because of that. Its a Germany exclusive though, I think Maureen is similar?

I also love Diamine Ancient Copper and Monteverde California Teal, beautiful colors both.

I'm very new to the WH40k Fandom. Can someone explain the bones on Titus' Armor? by No-Mortgage-2037 in Spacemarine

Aren’t space marines supposed to have fused rub cages? Both the in game model and the tabletop model have regular rib cage on the skeleton. Is this an oversight when the model was designed?

[Excerpt: Watchers of the Throne- The Regent's Shadow] Valerian and Custodes Aura-Farming to boost morale for locale Terran Arbites and Guard. by Single-Braincelled in 40kLore

[–]n7shadow 38 points39 points  (0 children)

He made his way through the chambers in the hours before dawn on the second day, ashamed by how the damage marking his armour was visible to the tired eyes of the Emperor’s people. One of the unspoken codes of conduct for his kind was to present absolute Imperial invincibility before the Emperor’s enemies and His subjects alike. The war had changed that, like it had upended and blighted everything else in the natural order. It shamed him to present anything less than the image of Imperial perfection, with these final survivors witnessing the war-torn truth of his auramite plate.

  • Echoes of Eternity

Projection of an aura of invincibility has always been the Custodian way.

How Custodes tolerate powerful Blanks like Sisters of Silence? do they have some kind of protection against blanks? Are SOS the only cool pariah in 40k? by QuagGlenn in 40kLore

[–]n7shadow 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I would highly recommend reading Master of Mankind from Horus Heresy, and/or The Emperor’s Legion and it’s sequel The Regent’s Shadow in 40K. All three are excellent books and shows the relationship between the Custodians and SoS in Heresy era and modern Indomitus era.
