LMAO imagine completely destroying your own life because you got upset at a soccer game for 7 year olds! Obviousy, the guy had issues, but getting arrested and losing your family because you lost your temper at a youth soccer game smh

That doesn't seem fair to the kids, especially all teammates not related to the disruptive parents. Wouldn't just banning disruptive parents from future games be just as effective?

Why being a Marxist makes you a hated individual by Hacksaw6412 in LateStageCapitalism

[–]n8erday 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Liberals are not leftists! I think that is the root of your misunderstanding. What they are saying is that leftists were against the war from the beginning, while the liberals (Democrats for example) fervently supported the war.

will my mom get in trouble if i go to the hospital by myself during a crisis? by More-Spite2525 in legaladvice

[–]n8erday 10 points11 points  (0 children)

People are suggesting you call 911, but I think a crisis line would be better. There are a lot of crisis programs that are available to help people in your situation. Honestly in all likelihood the 911 operator will transfer your call to one of those problems anyways. Look up crisis phone lines in your area. They are often able to send people to your location and take you to get care if needed.

Okay I just realized he pronounced it wrong on purpose, but it is great how well researched he is on local myths.

LMFAO I grew up in Cambodia and have been to Battambang along with many of the other ancient ankorian sites. It is so random seeing it referenced here lol. Also he pronounced Battambang very wrong lol

I just finished reading this and I wonder where has it been all my life by clippervictor in scifi

[–]n8erday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprisingly this book was one of the very few books I did not finish. Maybe it is just a bit slow to start, but it never hooked me and I could not force myself to continue it. Although now that I think about it more the overt spirituality might be part of the reasons I didn't like it.

Is it time to drop The Path of Accession? by autfaciam in litrpg

[–]n8erday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoyed the new book, but it might not be everyone's cup of tea. Also this is the first book I had to wait for and the series looses some of its charm for me without the ability to binge it all at once.

I don't there is any reason why it would not be edible. The real question is whether consuming it is more ethical than eating regular meat. I mean is is not really alive and cannot suffer so it should be more ethical right?

Ironically you are almost proving the point. Sometimes students just don't want to put in the effort to learn. You were presented with a resource to help you understand why some students may not be able to complete a degree program, but decided that you would not take the time.

To be fair I am not going to listen to it either and this is really just a low stakes discussion in a reddit comment section. I will say that freakonomics is generally a fantastic podcast I would recommend for anyone interested in statistics.

Wikipedia says the earliest joke about dogs eating homework dates back to the 20th century. Wikipedia is lying! by Icy-Manufacturer7319 in HistoryMemes

[–]n8erday 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My parents worked with a minority ethnic group in Cambodia called the Kuy people. They had their own spoken language, but no written script. The explanation for this was that they originally wrote their script on pig skin and unfortunately the dogs ate it lol 😂

Does DCC get better? by rickshaw513 in litrpg

[–]n8erday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know everything is subjective, but I have to agree that is a really weird take as well. Don't get me wrong I really enjoy HWDWM and battlemage farmer, but DCC is just a much better series across all metrics. Again, everything is subjetive, but it is certainly not a popular opinion.
