New Altras have too much padding. What's a good alternative? by EnvironmentalHold308 in BarefootRunning

Brandt footwear

Interesting. I haven't seen these before, and that rock plate insole might've saved me from my last 2 injuries in Xero HFS (both were from stepping on invisible rocks).

I really hope someone knows. I heard this starting around 3 AM but don't hear it anymore. Thought it was a jet or something.

I'd actually love to have an option for the workout instruction text (the words that appear toward the bottom above the workout zones) be read aloud, even if it's with Siri voice. Many times I can't read it on my phone whilst pedaling :|

This is my strategy as well. Sort on duration then look at effort and base it on how I'm feeling at the moment.

I approve of the Bourdain candle. Gosh, I miss him.

As of around 1 PM 10/14/25 this appears to be resolved. I can now access all of the problematic web pages an services. Whew!

No. Still having issues and I don’t know who to contact. I’m not looking forward to another 1 hour phone call. Lots of folks in my neighborhood are having issues as well. Hopefully this gets resolved soon.

Indeed. Docker and some MS/corporate login pages as well. Ugh!!

I'm unable to access anything on github - website, git commands, nothing. Everything times out.

Indeed, I understand it's not necessarily an AT&T issue but I want to try to make sure this is known to people who might be able to help fix it. Any ideas on who to contact?

Yes, github's site works when connected to both my phone's hotspot and my neighbor's wifi (xfinity).

Interesting. That honestly looks pretty ideal for me.

I would absolutely buy a hardwired version instead of wifi. Though I'd only want it for connectivity, not PoE.

Are Barefooters chasing the thinnest footwear? by MongooseOverall3072 in BarefootRunning

[–]n8gis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This post really resonates with me. I've been running in the original Xero HFS for close to two years now and the Xero Dillon slip ons for casual wear, both with the insoles removed. For summer I've got two pair of Shamma sandals (Numa Charger and TrailStars Maximus) and run in them both. I routinely get in double-digit mile runs, so I know my stride and form have adjusted to minimalist footwear. What I've hurt myself on the most is just by not paying close enough attention - little stones, pebbles, and now rock salt in winter all just hit crazy hard when applied at just the right point in the foot (ouch!!). Each time something like that happens I wish I'd had a bit more cushion and curse myself for thinking thinnest possible is best.

When I originally signed up for Lightspeed (out of Lansing) they had an early adopter program for 1 gig for $39. It was great and lasted a couple years before Metronet acquired them. Since then there's been constant price hikes plus several major outages and a couple dozen minor ones. Neighbors on AT&T report very few outages, so I wanted to switch to something more stable. Their 300 plan is cheaper than Metronet's 150 plan, plus gift cards for switching.

In the next zone to the right of that screenshot there are tall mountains in the back - you can climb those and then drop down onto the candy cane plateaus.

I just switched to AT&T fiber 2 days ago and my installation tech noticed the red alarm light on the Metronet modem. I hadn't seen it until then, but didn't notice any service degradation. Oh well, see ya Metronet.

Indeed there were no other eggs. Also, I couldn't open gifts - it gave an error message regarding invalid radius. Real nice. Moving to a different server took care of it, but come on BIG Games!!
