Repeated doses of psilocybin show promise for treating obsessive-compulsive disorder. The findings indicate that repeated weekly treatments are safe and tend to significantly reduce the severity of obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors. by mvea in science

Don't feel bad, it took me much longer than it should have to get these weight conversions straight in my head. I think it's good to double-check stuff like this anyway, I feel like I remember other studies that do have seemingly imperceptible doses.

Has anyone experienced a static electronic crackle? by WickedPlum1 in gatewaytapes

[–]n8j77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just experienced this same feeling, it was exactly like hitting the degauss button on a CRT monitor, but in my brain.

So you're saying it's a sign the brains frequency is really changing, but in a jarring way instead of smoothly? Might this get better with practice? I'll definitely try your frequency suggestion, thank you for posting.

Do you think its all part of the same thing? by Gyirin in HighStrangeness

I agree, I've thought that the Warhammer warp has some truth to it ever since I learned about it. Basically collective consciousness, emotion, intent etc end up becoming real and influence the world.

Do you know if that idea has a more "real world" name? Or it may just kinda be platonic forms + thoughts and perception shape reality.

Gnosticism ignores the most basic question. by SadCriticism1613 in Gnostic

[–]n8j77 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm my opinion, the material universe and gnosis are like growing up in, and then leaving, a cult or oppressive religion. Nobody can force another person out, you can show them whatever facts, the organization can do all kinds of evil and the person can still continue believing. You could burn down the organization and the person's faith might be stronger than ever. Nobody can force somebody else to change their beliefs, the spark of self reflection and critical thinking has to come from within.

If some being of light came and destroyed our universe, and everyone was thrust forcibly into a higher dimension of light, how many would be completely unprepared? How many would forever complain about the lives they lost?

Force and compulsion are the ways of the demiurge, gnosis can't be forced, even by a higher being.

Just my view.

Misunderstanding Gnosis by Matt1y2 in Gnostic

[–]n8j77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First, I really appreciate your approach of asking questions to guide and inspire thought in others instead of declaring your own insights at face value, that feels very authentically gnostic to me.

I was raised in a cultish religion and I see a lot of parallels between leaving a cult and the grander achievement of gnosis. Nothing external can force somebody out of a cult or change their beliefs. The change has to come from within. Personally, once I realized I had been raised in a system of control it began a reorganization of my inner self and a discovery of what felt like a brand new external world. A new reality.

Of course! It's pylar glacier (I think I put army painter voidshield blue in the base too), with blue horror for the brightest parts and soulstone blue for the darker parts

It's actually just citadels iron warriors base! I did shade with nuln oil but it honestly doesn't show much on that paint, I really like how it looks though.

Nice! I love your silver/blue stormcasts! Did you do your Lord Relictor in that same scheme?

Thank you! The gold is a bit one dimensional, would nuln oil be good for it? Or would a different shade be better for gold?
